I don't think she should be used to see shadows althought she see shadows since kid. She recently go out to save people lifes and do something about what she is afraid. The people telled her that she was a monster all her life. She has been alone the major part of her life, her dad die, Joon left (her only chilhood friend) and; her mother almost kill her when she was a kid and never loved her.
She can´t love, appreciate, acept or be cool when she see how people is gonna die because she does not have a support system like Melinda Gordon in the Amerian series: Ghost Whisper.
Kyung Ho is amazing so why why the main lead girl has to be Krystal................
This will be "male drama" - male centric - so maybe she does not will appear too much, after all they will be in prison so they should be no women there all the time even if she is a doctor or anything else. The writers said than althought she will have the main female role, she will not have a big part in the drama for the nature of the drama althought she will have the a mayor role than others actresses in the drama.

Maybe Yoon Shi Yoon is the young version of Cha Taehyun's caracter. Maybe he disapered because he travel in time and in the present his two versions (young and old) will meet.
