An Impressive Drama of Yuning and Zuer. The wait is worth it.
Second drama that makes me buy express to watch all of the episodes in advance. Always been a fan of Liu Yuning since Long Ballad. Enjoy every music of him, watched almost all of his dramas. This drama is my favorite drama of him, together with “A Journey to Love”. Qiao Man character makes me love Prisoner of Beauty even more. Song Zuer portray Qiao Man really well that I can’t imagine if someone else takes this role instead of her. Qiao Man has a calm nature, the best strategic partner to Wei Shao. Such a rare FL character I find in most of CDramas. There are some plots that I wish it would written differently. It is hard to let go of Wei Liang and Qiao Fan. I wish them to live a happy life with Xiao Tao and Bi Zhi. I wish to see Lady Yu and Liu Yan ending in a more brutal ways (sorry). I wish to see more Wei Shao role as a father, but overall I really love this drama. Thank you for giving me drama that I will always remember. Love It
What I Loved :1. Two smart, strong leads. Both characters are capable and driven. Xu Chi is not a heroine waiting to be rescued, and Ye Xinzhi is not just a “cold boss” type. Each has real goals and a past to deal with.
2. An evenly matched couple. They challenge each other and respect each other’s abilities. Their chemistry comes from being an equal footing.
3. A healthy relationship. They support each other and grow together. When problems come up, they feel real, not manufactured.
4. A great balance of story elements. Workplace politics, personal ambition and a slow building romance all get room to breathe.
If you enjoy smart office dramas, slow burn romance, and couples who are partners rather than obstacles to each other, this one is for you.
