that’s a good point but the gl community is definitely stronger than we see so i’m not too worried about that also i feel like making a gl that is a copy of any bl without stating that it’s a readaptation would maybe lead to a worse reaction from the bl focused audience, and i get why since that would be plagiarism
i jokingly say that girl rules is the wlw version of only friends because they have the same toxic and messy vibe but it’s actually more like the wlw version of only friends dream on structurally both shows are really similar, much more than OF is similar to GR in both we have - a separated couple with one ex ready to do anything to get what they want and the other that is “set” on not wanting to be back together - a couple with a relationship based on sex with one of them in love with someone from the ex couple and the other pursuing them - a more couple forming from a friendship and mention of doubts about one of them being able to love someone from the same gender
i’m glad girl rules isn’t a 1 to 1 copy of OF but it’s really similar to OFDO and it’s not helping that both are airing at the same time so i really hope the shows don’t get too similar as the episodes get released cause that would be a shame to have the same show twice while being advertised as two different shows and universes. as a fan of both im hoping for original stories, something that keeps me on the edge of my seat makes me as shocked as i was during each episode of only friends 1 and i hope girl rules gets to be just as iconic while still be original. also kinda unrelated but i kinda hope both series end up being series with many seasons with new actors every season but also a lot of reoccurring characters
overall this was a bit weird but not in a bad way, it took me by surprise in the way characters were behaving and that was refreshing however i feel like it was almost too smooth, like yes jira went through some trouble but i still feel like the resolution of the issues was way too easy. this could’ve been much more deep and messier also like many others i wish there was a REAL moral about ai, it feels like they just forgot to mention it again at the end i loved pheem and how down bad and desperate he was tho, idk if i had seen him before but i want to see dew play another character like that in a messier more toxic series also i want to mention how beautiful the art is, does anyone know who the artist is ?

i’m so bothered by how lightly they deal with sa in this, it kinda ruined the show for me johnny explicitly said that he didn’t r*pe blacked out akin because he was saying jun ? and all he got for that was a kick ? also the scene where jade pins akin down was so unnecessary i wish they didn’t include those or dealt with those issues better, because the rest was good and smart and boom were both really good and made me want to see more of them
