I really enjoyed this article, although I’ve only ever seen Falling for Innocence of the three you mentioned. I don’t remember it being super impactful but maybe I should watch it again.
For me, My ID is Gangnam Beauty was one of the most impactful dramas. It openly challenged the ridiculous beauty standards of the society and made me think twice before I judge someone for plastic surgery.
Also, One Spring Night SHOOK me. The way the patriarchy was seemingly in total control and how our heroines challenged that and tried to live their own lives. It was heartbreaking, infuriating, and heartwarming.
I’ve only seen Oh Yeon Seo in A Korean Odyssey and I wasn’t impressed. Maybe it was the character and not her acting. Any other dramas of hers that showcase her acting skills? I’ve purposely stayed away from all of her dramas but I’m interested in this one because of KSG
As a writer; maaaan!!! Stop blaming the writer and making her/him the villain when he/she probably have no idea…
Yes, from a readers perspective the writer is not a villain, they are just writing a story. But this story is told from the characters perspective and since they are created and controlled by the writer they have no choice. It's not dissing writers it is just a fantasy that gives us a different perspective.

Ummm Dan Oh is not upset about what is happening in the shadows she is upset that she is a terminally ill character with an abusive love interest and she could die at any moment.
How is that weird? They are oblivious..... that's the whole point of this drama - self awareness.
The characters who are not self aware do not remember anything that happens in the shadow. So no matter how strange and different the self aware characters are behaving, the others will not remember as soon as the next stage begins. Dried squid fairy explains this several times.
Since everyone's adding their own theory I might as well chime in too lol- So what if the story wasn't ACTUALLY…
Interesting theory! If they went that direction they would really be saying screw you to the webtoon and I think it would be lazy writing. Instead of explaining things they would just say, “haha actually Dan Oh’s independence was planned by the writer so she’s actually not special at all.” I wouldn’t like that ending personally.
I know the comic is kind of a parody of Boys Over Flowers but Joo Da reminds me more I of the FL from Heirs than Jan Di. The latter actually had a personality and some funny moments but Joo Da is SUPER bland.
