I love how this drama explored and portrayed so many relationship dynamics (romantic/familial/platonic/friendship/sisterhood/brotherhood)! It feels so sincere and realistic. I cannot decide which relationship dynamic is the best (they are all comforting and beautiful in their own ways) but I do know which is the worst - coughs 2nd prince............
Most Chinese dramas seem to go downhill after a while....ep 27/28 physically destroyed me, and the new previews for the later eps are not exactly hopeful either... tbvh, the drama plot itself isn't very engaging and now that the CP is having troubles the show itself isn't compelling enough to wait excitedly. I will still be watching, but less eagerly than before until I see a nice preview haha...
sigh that emperor preview though, I don't want an imperial concubine arc, the main CP have enough obstacles already??? But I will most definitely welcome an arc whereby the emperor appreciates and admires pan er's capabilities and hence bless the CP's marriage!
also, all the miscommunication doesn't make sense. From the start of the drama, GQF's character has been consistent, stable and mature in his interactions with Pan er. He has never shunned from confrontation when it came to her, or anyone even. But I suppose this is the first time he is feeling insecure about their relationship, and guilty re: his father being partially responsible for pan er and her family's downfall. I expected better from him though, or at very least not 6 episodes worth of miscommunication!!!!!!
