hi, I kinda felt the same with the whole project and especially the dialogues seem too unreal and unlike the characters themselves. but I wanted to tell you that many of historical kdrama' directors _unknowingly_ prefer to show what has happened in form of flashbacks. sometimes it's really annoying but after these years I kinda get along with it😅
