Currently I’m rooting for Hyungyu! He’s SO smart & I’m glad he sees the game as a game. Emotions are important but as a viewer, I find his focus on planning & actioning strategies so much more interesting. And the way the other contestants are teaming up against him just proves his intelligence imo, they view him as a threat bc he really is that smart
I’m really enjoying this season. I was sad when Justin was eliminated, his personality was v likeable & it was fun watching how he pretty much played alone & thrived well in the matches without getting too much into all the alliance politics.
Aw I’m only halfway through ep 6 but Sedol’s elimination is the first one I genuinely feel a bit sad about! He was an interesting player & really funny too, it’s disappointing we didn’t get to see more of him
lmao I comment this every week at this point but GYJ is probably 1 of the prettiest people on the planet, she’s actually stunning! And the way Yiyoung was looking at Dowon in ep 9 was flipping adorable
Like many thousands of other Yoo fans, I just finished watching The Match on Netflix, today being its first day…
I don’t know much about go either but I enjoyed this. The actors did a great job & carried the film.
If you ever want to give a drama with go as the main theme a try then I recommend hikaru no go. It’s a Chinese drama & it’s 10/10. Even as someone who doesn’t really understand go, it makes the games fun to watch. I rewatch it almost every yr!
I’m only halfway but that transition scene when changho is thinking about something that makes him calm & the background becomes his dad’s shop - it was such a smooth transition, really well edited
The only thing that I fastly solve on my own in this show is the question/riddle "What come but never arrive"…
me too haha! 😂 that was the only thing I immediately knew the answer to & it surprised me that it took the contestants some time to figure that out.
But then I realised it’s harder for them bc I guess it’s not a common riddle for their culture?? (I live in the UK & have heard the riddle since I was a kid) + it was literally in a different language from their native so it made sense why it took them some time
the contestants are all so smart in their own ways, it’s really fun to watch! I enjoy seeing their different strategies. Justin, Sohee, Harin, Hyungyu & Kyuhyun are my top 5 right now, rooting for them!
despite being eliminated, sanggyeon really impressed me - esp in ep 3! the exiling other players so boldly was really fun to watch, he was close to winning. and it’s more impressive when you take his age into account too, he did a great job 👏
