The true culprit in the series was Yuki Makoto (Kanda Masaki).
At the farm, Totsugawa and Kamei are looking for Makoto, as he had there by luxury car. Makoto is found behind the tractor, and tells to them about the case. Makoto is actually losing his sister, Kaori (Aota Noriko) by committing suicide after she was deceived by a marriage fraudster and paid tribute killed the fraudster three years ago. Totsugawa puts the letter written by Kaori before committing suicide. Makoto then picks it and read it.
After Makoto thought that Kamei's pursuit of his sister was the cause of her suicide, and out of complete resentment, he tried to turn Kamei into a murderer. As Makoto imagines that his sister approaches, he shots Totsugawa and Kamei, but they missed. Then Makoto shot at his own head, killing him in process. Totsugawa then burns the letter, and covers Makoto dead body with his jacket.

When Totsugawa and the police are about to arrest him, Takemiya took the lawyer Takagi Akiko (Tanaka Minako) as a hostage. After police rescues Akiko, Takemiya then attacks Totsugawa with his hand fan, but Totsugawa dodges. Takemiya then pushed by the police to the tree and handcuffs him, arresting him for murder. While being handcuffed, Takemiya accuses the police for trying to extinguish one of the hundreds of years of traditional art. But Totsugawa told to Takemiya that even he disappears, the traditional art won't fade away and he also should responsible for victim lives.
