did you try the other xz dramas that are already out?
then you missed out on a beautiful and inspiring drama. WDB deals with how the youth strive to achieve their dreams with the backdrop of changing times in china in the late 70s-early 2000. you will miss XCS if you pass on this.
Currently on episode 18 and I am too afraid to continue because I know it's gonna have a sad ending. What do u…
it's not a bad ending, more of an open ending as it is open for interpretation. on my part, I consider it as a happy ending for some reasons. but the point is story wise it's quite logical and coherent, the very high quality of the production (OMG the visual effects and the sceneries are stunning), acting wise esp from Xiao Zhan plus the visuals of SHIYING is definitely WORTHY of your time. this drama is a MUST WATCH.
that concubine dying is part of a bigger plan to topple the Kongsang kingdom, not just a mere rivalry between the two ladies, in other words, her pregnancy was just a tool to make the king favour her more, btw, I heard that the king by that time is not a good king
I gave a bad rating, bc I felt absolutely no chemistry. Didn't feel like a romance drama, I can't understand why…
this is not a romance drama, this is a period drama. so the story focus more on the story of the main character XCS and his friends as they navigate life thru those times in their country. romance is not the focus.

Xiao Zhan is such an inspiring person, for his strength in character, and taking the high ground in dealing with the adversity that he faced in his career, so if being called an influencer in that sense would be amazing

I specifically stated those brands cuz frankly speaking I find your post a bit offensive, like you're trying to downgrade him and his works,i.e him endorsing products which as far as we all know esp in c-ent is part and parcel of what it is to be a celeb/artist there.
He's doing FINE. He doesn't have any godfather so he's the one who manages his own career and he's been doing…
acting in theatre is one of the most challenging thing a real actor with talent would take up as a challenge to hone their craft, regardless of the pay..and regarding his endorsements [btw this is in reply to another poster] the companies are the ones who are running after him to become a spokesperson for their brands {whether 'kitchenware companies or the highly prestigious global brands) since it's known in c-ent that his fans buying power is huge, and for sure he's paid handsomely for that. and may I reiterate that it's not only "kitchenware companies " that he endorses but highly prestigious global brands like GUCCI TODS ZENITH SAIC-AUDI YSL NARS etc and take note he's the global ambassador for GUCCI TODS AND ZENITH. and with your comment about him "boring", i don't want to say anything that may hurt your feelings.
If I were asked that question by an actor, not a character, I would answer: "If you died, my heart would break…
imo, your review is unfair to the drama itself, hence my comment. If you feel that you have the right to post that long essay as an opinion based on that short trailer, then i have the right to to critique your opinion, to be fair. what I'm trying to say is, let's wait for the drama to air first, then give our opinions/critiques, not before.
this drama is a MUST WATCH.
