I love lin yi and want to watch this for him but after "he is psychometric" I've stayed away from shows with alexithymia.
as someone who deals with it myself, I've been too scared to see more bad rep.
cam someone please tell me if this shows him as a heartless, emotionless robot who has no morals or not. I really want to watch but can't stand seeing a thing I experience be misrepresented.
also I'm pretty ut isn't an illness but a symptom. I have it bc of my autism, it causes me to not be able to tell what I feel when I feel it but I still have feelings, I just can't identify them the same way other ppl do.
I don't normally comment but please do not watch this, it's transphobic af and its infuriating to watch. the characters are just these disgusting gay stereotypes who are the worst ppl ever and they're just all shitty ppl, I feel sorry for their teacher
spoiler warning, tho the show is so bad I'd honestly just recommend reading this instead of watching, it made me so disgusted and angry.
I watched this bc I saw it pop up and i thought it'd be a show that's so bad that it's kind of funny or something you can make fun of... I was definitely wrong.
it's the worst most offensive thing I've ever watched and I have watched that old south african "comedian" who had a whole movie where the main joke was blackface.
it's so incredibly transphobic, one of the characters literally started chanting to the trans girl about how she should detransition and that she doesn't belong in the lgbtq+ community. theres also the scene where they introduce her and shes just walking anf the whole class 13 starts collectively making fun of her for just existing right in from if her face where she can hear them.
there was this whole fatphobic thing too. they also started slutshaming their very obviously lesbian teacher saying that she was trying to seduce the hot new male teacher (who btw walked into the school half naked?!?!?)
every character is this weird gay caricature and it's so uncomfortable. they're also shaming ppls looks all the time and looking down on ppls financial situations.
I don't personally like how the trans girl is shown. idk why the put her in that oversized shorts bc surely she had a pair of shorts from last year and idk about her family situation, but surely her parents are somewhat accepting, couldn't they have moved her to an all girls or coed school? like why is she studying at a school supposedly filled with the worst gay ppl to have ever existed. if there was no way to transfer her, it'd be nice if she got a better looking school uniform.
also that scene where she ig became hot and started dancing with a protest sign was weird. it went in way too long and felt like the writers were trying to make fun of trans women.
it's been days since I've watched the first episode and it still makes me mad. I would never act again if I was any of these actors
the only charactes who was somewhat likeable was the homeroom teacher and she had like 3 lines all related to teaching.
most shows only have one ep a week, and they still have many fans and viewers
that makes sense, I've only really watched their shorter series so I wasn't aware of that. but I still think 40 minutes a week is an okay amount. even if there's 16 eps, it gives the fans more to look forward to each week. atleast for me, 2 episodes a week has always been difficult to watch since I feel like im overloaded with content and if for any reason I am unable to watch it live or on taht week, I feel overwhelmed bc instead of 2 eps, its 4eps to catch up.
this is one of my all time favourite shows, gu weiyi is my fav autistic headcannon he's the best. yes the show can be a bit weird at points and fu peng is not a great person but gu weiyi makes up for everything he is literally one if the greenest flags I've ever seen in a show and he's into science like I am. as an autistic person he means a lot to me even tho he isn't really autism rep lol
I hope there aren't any actual gay scenes (praying) I've wanted to see Jong Seo in a romance drama for a long…
that's a very selfish thought. queer ppl barely get any rep, especially I'm sk so if there I'd gay character and serious scenes with him, then that's a good thing. he can also have romantic scenes with another male character in the show so it doesnt mean you wont get thr romance drama you want(tho I doubt the writers would ever do that bc they hate seeing queer ppl in love)
please think and reread what you say before you say bc what you said is really wrong. I hope it was just bad wording and not that your homophobic.
my comment isn't an attack or anything, I just wanted to point out what was wrong in your comment.
Please bear in mind that this series was released 5 years ago. At that time there where weren’t many discussions…
these jokes were bad 5 years ago as well. if it was 20 years ago, or even 15 then I'd have more understanding bc those jokes were more "accepted" back then, but 5 years ago it wasn't.
I tried to watch for pavel but I can't get passed the SA jokes, it's honestly disgusting taht anyone thought it was okay to put in the show or even write them in the first place.
I can't belive there aren't more ppl talking about it. its not okay at all and I hope anyone who is planning on watching sees my comment so that they know that this is a show where they say "don't get r-ped" as a joke.
