It's been wonderful watching this with you all! About the drama, although I really loved the characters, I wasn't very interested in the plot - especially when it got really into military battles. So I didn't enjoy most of the last few episodes. But Zhao Lusi and Yang Yang (and Xuan Lu, and Zhang Haowei, and many others) were great! It was the script that was lacking (as is often the case).
Episode 22 is an absolute delight!! It's so fun seeing Feng Lanxi be bad at something for once. Also, there is so much chemistry between Bai Fengxi and Feng Qiwu - they were basically off having their own gay affair in this episode. It was the BEST.
You're incredible! I just watched the first episode, and that is some complicated translation, holy cow!! Also, I can tell this drama is super high quality, so thank you so much for making it accessible to us English speakers :) You're doing the Lord's work.
I'm on ep 5 rn and is the ML living a double life or some...his dad and brothers don't know he has top-notch martial…
Yeah it's really confusing, you don't fully find out until later on, but he somehow has a secret identity, so his family doesn't know he's Hei Fengxi, and Bai Fengxi doesn't know he's 2nd Prince Feng Lanxi. I guess nobody ever drew any pictures of him and nobody has seen both of his identities aside from his servants? I really don't understand how he's been able to conceal it so successfully for so long.
When Gu Wei was busy working and Lin Zhixiao was feeling ignored - I really appreciate that the drama showed this, because it's super real! If you were dating a surgeon like Gu Wei, he *would* often be super busy with work. And I know how it feels being the not-busy one, too. It's definitely something people have to work out in their relationships.
Also, Gu Wei's death glares at Shao Jiang were so funny/cute. He was looking a bit like Wei Wuxian across the dinner table at times!
