" There was that one oppa who will always have a special place in your heart because he was in your first drama ever." . I see that opening line and also the gif of Jisung and I'm like: How the hell did you know Ji Sung was in my first ever drama and made me swoon to no end? xD
(Protect the Boss will always have a special place in my heart, as will Jisung and Jaejoong :D)
I would have enjoyed this series a lot more if this didn't portray a textbook abusive relationship. Male…
agreed on this so much... I wanted to fully like the series and their interactions but his conduct ended up irking me often.
e.g. him saying she shouldn't have any male interactions - not even male friendships - , him saying he himself was free to continue interacting with everyone because of his "dominant" role; him wanting her to spend every single evening with him without exception and constantly circling her with texts when he didn't know where she was; him going about to take away her workplace and potential housing just to make her move closer; him saying she should be doing the cooking in the house and that his prepared breakfast on the first day was an exception not to be repeated; him guilting her into staying closed at home when it should've been her call to see if she really felt ill...
not to mention the whole dominant/submissive phrasing of the contract , which was completely unnecessary;
This all may kind of be brushed aside as part of a push-and-pull / clumsy way of wooing her, but in my mind his behaviour and statements just don't bode well to the health of their relationship in a few years.
This drama deserves more love. Surprised it isn't making it into the top10 dramas in the hub.
I'm sure that if there were some buzz and people checked out the first couple of episodes they'd be hooked!
I was pleasantly surprised with the first episode, I definitely recommend people giving it a go =) . Je Su Ho is so adorkable and Hwang Jung Eum delivered so well in all fronts: a dose of spunk, goofiness and emotional acting!
I'm really enjoying this drama! I like the dynamics of the group of friends, Zhen Zhen's family scenes are super sweet/homely and Zhen Zhen x Chen Che have great chemistry =)
I watched and kinda enjoyed it, but oh boy were the premise and interpersonal relations messed up. Only in a japanese manga adaptation can I let sth like this slide.
Ok, so I've watched 4 episodes, and I was more or less liking it at the start, but I need to drop this. The main…
Hehheh, it's good to know I'm not alone in feeling this way!
Sheng Nan is indeed a nice and relatable character, despite that major mess-up.
SInce you suggested it, I might give this drama a last chance of redeeming itself with episode 5, though I feel that the things that frustrate me will probably still be there...

The main lead girl just irks me beyond measure. She is selfish, manipulative and self-centered. I know not all lead girls need to be "perfect saintly characters", and in the beginning I was liking that about her, but her conduct is just too much. I guess what irked me the most was to see so many comments on Viki completely siding with her. Regardless if this is comedy or not, and if she had "motives" in the past to become this way, she is still a bad person.
Also, Sheng Nan may have misstepped (avoiding spoilers), but I don't get why so many people dislike her? A lot of her fears and reactions are perfectly human and she does show she is capable of feeling sorry, being regretful, being loving, etc.
Happy with the endgame couple.
Yi Ahn and Eun Bi went through a lot together but came out of it stronger IMO.
They clearly liked each other and enjoyed each other's company. Like Eun Bi said herself, she would have valued a lot having someone like him in her life back in Tongyeon when times were hard.
I feel like it was a necessity for Yi Ahn to go through a period of anger, introspection and reflection after discovering Eun Byul was "dead" and that the changed person in front of him was actually someone else. He nicely came to terms with it and also regained strength to pursue swimming thanks to Eun Bi's support. Even during his confused phase he still went to help Eun Bi when she was about to be discovered, and cared about her well-being when she went back to Love House.
I don't know about others, but I'd gladly have a person like Yi Ahn in my life.
really nice drama! I love how all characters were realistic and not caricature-like evil. It's really a sweet story about building a loving relationship and getting to know one another.
