It's not that he didn't die, it's that he didn't die yet. The manhua has been on hiatus since 2016 so there's only so many chapters out. The manhua isn't complete.
Li Changge is supposed to look like a girly male when cross dressed as per the manhua.
I agree with @Legxis. Other than the rather obvious lipstick, she also has very obvious eyeshadow on. The drawing scenes take note of it as well considering she is also drawn with lipstick, eyeshadow, and painted nails. You might say that as an actress, she must be wearing some eyeshadow and I get that but pink/peach eyeshadow? For example, in the heiress, the FL is wearing obvious eyeshdaow but it's to deepen her eyes, not make her pretty. And nowhere near the pink Li Changge is wearing.
I would also like to add that in the manhua, Li Chang Ge was only 12-14, so her passing off as a delicate boy is not completely improbable. Have you not seen 12-14 year old boys? Their voices are high and their faces are not defined nor do they have facial hair so I don't think it's quite as hard for her to pass off as one.

The manhua hasn't been updated in 5 years. 5! Unfortunately when she started her own company, she wasn't able to continue releasing new chapters due to her old publishing company. She has other works and prequel to the series though, if you want to check it out! Her artwork is phenomenal!
