Just checked quickly, and it's mentioned in the first episode. At around the 47:05 mark, there is a newspaper clipping showing an article titled "Serial murder-robbery case crime by 2 men?" (but they talk about it before with the man that studied/worked with Hidaka in the US, or something similar). I think I've already forgotten almost everything about this drama, and maybe I didn't pay much attention while watching it, but I do remember thinking it was strange that it wasn't mentioned again.

Just finished the series, and I have to ask: sooo... am I crazy or is no one commenting about the rape/murder* case Hidaka was involved in in the US and which is never mentioned again in the series? Or have I missed something? (* actually I can't remember at the moment if murder was involved as well)
