Smart, Funny, and Surprisingly Deep
Comedy: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cinematography: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Chemistry: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This drama delivers one of the most enjoyable viewing experiences I have had in a long time. The comedic timing is exceptional, and I found myself laughing more than I ever have while watching a series. While there are minor concerns regarding the writing and certain aspects of the plot execution, the overall quality of the production more than compensates for those shortcomings.
Although I would have appreciated more scenes featuring Nan Heng and Song Yi Meng, the narrative decision to avoid focusing solely on romance was a refreshing change. As Song Yi Meng herself remarks in the drama, it raises the question of why romantic elements often dominate storytelling.
Liu Yuning once again demonstrates his versatility and talent as an actor. His performance is compelling, and I look forward to seeing him in future roles involving political intrigue or complex character dynamics. Li Yitong also delivers a strong performance, portraying emotion with authenticity and depth. Their on-screen partnership benefits from the fact that both actors are of similar age, which adds a layer of realism to their chemistry.
This drama reminds us that life is like a script. The real question is: will you leave your fate in someone else’s hands, or will you choose to write your own story?
