I really love this comment, I also really think about that quote a lot. This world is still definitely not the best, even though more and more people are okay with it, it's still seen as weird. 2 days ago I was told by a little 10 year old girl, that liking girls is weird. It is not natural, ofcourse I asked why and she just said, that it's doesn't seem natural and it's weird. How do I still have to tell a 10 year old that it's okay to be gay. Where are the parents there. Anyways, back to my original point, the thing that hurts me the most about that quote is knowing the end, knowing that he also struggled with it and it being the reason he moved from montreal. Being closeted and wanting to protect someone else from the same paths you took, that hurts so much. At the end I just cried and cried remembering that scene. Feeling his pain, he wasn't allowed to love, he wanted to protect someone else from following the same path and loving someone that was not "allowed" or "normal". Watching the movie again I always cry at that scene, the quote holds so much emotion. We still live in a world that is seen like that, my love will always be seen as less love, just because I am a woman loving another woman.

You should definitely watch it, it is my ultime favorite movie. It doesn't have a good ending. It has a kinda open and good ending but this story is based on a true story in which the ml doesn't have a good ending like in the movie. Still that doesn't make it any less of a watch nor rewatch. I love this movie with my whole heart. You should definitely watch it.
