I see a lot of people say Soo Hyun's revenge is justifiable but Seon Yul's isn't. Soo Hyun is an educated woman she had 4 options, she knew she had the option to appeal the court verdict, seeing how SY was bullied in school she already had general public's support she could've recorded a video of that man's reaction and posted it online, how she's playing a detective now to find out the truth about SY's mother's accident she could've done the same back then; hire a private detective to find out the connections and illegal dealings that took place between the judge and SY's father. But she CHOSE to murder him instead. Her decision is understandable but not justifiable.
Seon Yul's revenge is also understandable but not justifiable. In his mind his father made a mistake and apologized, he himself also paid little price by getting bullied at school. SH killed his father and refused to apologize. Now some say the she already paid for it by being sent to jail. She paid for the crime of deliberately taking a human life, she would've gone to jail even if it wasn't SY's father she killed. Her refusal to acknowledge his family's pain is his motivation for revenge, not his father's death.
Tbh Seon Yul' s father was just stupid. He had already apologized in court he could've repeated the same words again. Also why was he walking in the middle of the road 😂 if he was walking like a normal person on the side of the road he wouldn't have gotten himself killed.

Seon Yul's father didn't showed any remorse on killing the kid and Soo Hyun didn't showed any remorse in killing SY's father. In her eyes her son died because of that man and no one else, in his eyes his life turned hell because of her and no one else. Plus when you're down in life you don't really think rationally and try to find someone to blame. Both of their revenges can be understood if we look at it this way. But I personally don't agree with SY revenge mainly because as a viewer I know his father wasn't a good person. Also he hates her a lot so it won't look natural if they make him friends with her after he finds out the truth about his father's involvement and mother's accident. People take long time to heal. He has a heart problem so he'll probably get a heart attack in the end to "end his misery".

He probably does get them because of his pretty face. Pretty privilige is real you know.
@sinca Honestly I don't care whether you believe it or not, at least I know I have a real job. I haven't just "directed actors".

Posting childish comments, liking your own comments and then blocking others really shows your mental level. I wonder if you're really doing masters or are in 5th grade.

Going to a school doesn't automatically makes you an expert in a field.

I'm literally working as a production manager at a fairly sized film/drama production studio. So I know what I'm talking about.

So you're an acting and direction expert?
The talking points we say actually make sense unlike you people who think that the directors change their entire directing style just to cater to 1 actor.

There's a difference between criticism and hate and what most of you talk about is just hate wrapped in an envelope with just the title of constructive criticism.

In your original comment you could've said "yeah, his acting is okay in this" and we all would've moved on but the way you keep saying ridiculous things while also telling others to ignore makes me think that you already have certain bias against him.

It doesn't matter if he reads the comments or not. People can share their opinions.
In this comment section some people called out his acting bad, did you tell them to not talk about it too and keep their conversations to the drama itself?
If his performance was bad, all of you would've joined in on the trolling and this comments section would been filled with it but now that his performance is good you want people to not even mention it.

The makeup on ML and the overall "cinematic" filter on the entire drama was too much.

To the people who talk about FL's bad kiss scenes. Try to understand the character, she had never kissed anyone before and was afraid all her life of having the same fate as her uncle.

Of course this is not a ground breaking character, the entire story revolves around the FL so obviously that will be the driving character of the drama. We're talking about his performance which is actually good but some people aren't even willing to say that and when someone mentions it positively others try to bring them down (just look at your own comments).

Just because you like Kim Soo Hyun doesn't mean he's doing an exceptional job, of course he's an amazing actor but that doesn't mean that no one else can portray the character just like him or better than him until someone actually plays it we will never know. My example of fantastic beasts movies applies here too. Johnny and Mads both are exceptional actors and played the character in their own way.

You say you're not trying to put Eunwoo down but so far you've said he has pretty privilege, anybody can play the character, and compared his character to a very different character in a drama of different genre. If you have some bias against him just say it so I won't have to reply to your comments because I know nothing I say will change your opinion on him, but don't show your biased behavior as the objective truth.

It's because he gets a lot of unnecessary hate so we have to mention his good stuff. Many people have a personal bias against him because of his "it boy" status and they express it by hiding behind the veil of "constructive criticism".

Really? You're going with this now? First you guys used to say he can't act, he doesn't has range that's why he gets cold characters. Now that he has shown his range and diverse abilities in island and this drama, you're like anyone can play this role it's not that hard.
Any role can be played by another actor in a heartbeat because every actor interprets the character in their own way. The character of Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts movies is a perfect example of 2 actors playing the same character with their own interpretations.

This is my first Kim Nam Joo drama, and her acting is very believable. I don't know why you didn't liked it. She's playing a character who has gone through real tough times and has lost all hope, she's playing it perfectly.
Other cast members are also doing their roles really well.

Saying "I don't like his acting in this" is criticizing but saying "his acting is bad and I wish he wasn't a part of this production" is not criticizing, it's a typical hater behavior.
Of course he's not the best actor in this drama but he's also not the worst. He's doing what the script describes, if the director thought his performance was good enough for the final product, maybe he is doing a good job.

No production company is going to spend millions in making a drama and then hire a bad actor to ruin viewers' experience and re-watch value.

True.
It's not even about his acting anymore, some people have just made it part of their personality to hate on him and everything that he does.

So you know more about acting than the director of the drama?

You ignored the plot and mystery of the drama and dropped it because of a 10 second scene, really makes me question why you were watching it in the first place.

The reason I didn't say the actors names is because I don't want the comment section to turn into a fight club.
About song kang; I've watched some of his dramas (love alarm, sweet home) and I liked his performance in those. In my demon, he just couldn't fit the character properly. The scenes where he was supposed to be a scary/dominant just felt like how some teenagers mimick their teachers and the comedy scenes were cringy in part because of the script but also because his eyes didn't show the same emotions as the rest of the face.
As an introvert myself, I notice even small details on people's faces, that's why I felt like cha eun woo is getting unnecessary hate because I could see all the subtle things he does with his eyes and voice tone etc.
Ratings, I agree, is low because of the release schedule but it's also because the drama is unnecessarily long. If they hsd removed all the filler content the main story could have been completed in ~10 episodes.

If only people learn to read the official character description before starting a drama they would realize that the character is supposed to be cold/emotionless. I've seen many other actors as well who got called bad actors when they played any introverted or cold characters just because some people lack the emotional intelligence to understand characters that are of different personality than their own.

He wasn't a bad actor to begin with, but was a bit lacking. He has improved a lot since True Beauty.
That's true about majority of the young actors in kdramas but they don't get as much hate as him.

Age gap is age gap whether it's 12 or 26. And he looked more like 112 years older than her, this female lead doesn't even looks much older than eunwoo.
