Similarly, hatred towards a person may inspire remorse, depending on ones moral compass and willingness to maintain a clear conscience. That is why hate, as an emotion, is necessary.

Another reason is that if there was no hate and only love, we wouldn’t perceive love as love. These are two ends of the same spectrum of emotion. Remove one, and what you have left is no way to move from one end to the other or feel anything in between.
