Glad to chance upon this gem which exposed the rawness of each character unapologetically. They were portrayed realistically without hiding their flaws, while examining the deepest desires of their hearts. This made this omnibus drama relatable, making a special connection to its audience.
South Korean dramas perfected the recipe for romantic comedies, but I think they excel more with slice-of-life dramas like Reply 1988, Navillera, and Move to Heaven
IMO, Japan is still champion of slice-of-life dramas since they’re not afraid to tackle socio-relevant issues thereby creating something extraordinary. However, South Korea is a strong contender; hope they will produce more slice-of-life dramas
Such a feel-good movie on friendship and living in the moment.
P.S. Although the film could do away with the dance interlude at the beginning, I loved its addition at the end with their past and future selves having a musical feast similar to what was done in Mamma Mia 2 :)
Maida Nono stole the spotlight in Tsuma, Shogakusei ni Naru. From the middle-aged Takae to the 10-year old Marika, her portrayal was brilliant — definitely someone to watch out for
I love the leads, but to be honest, I was very disappointed with the reunion movie of Mario and Baifern :(
It would have been better if the twist was that Dob was not able to take over Bob’s body, and they revealed that it was Bob all along at the end, since it was shown that Bob’s rude actions were due to the guru’s influence
I love this drama sooo much! Any recommendation for other similar J-dramas? With the same quality and same feel…
Agree! Slice-of-life dramas are Japan’s forte. I would recommend the ff for starters: -Kotaki Kyodai to Shikuhakku -Bokura wa Kiseki de Dekite Iru -Nagi no Oitoma -Neechan no Koibito -Dakara Watashi wa Oshimashita -Omameda Towako to Sannin no Motootto
Fuben na Benriya is a feel-good series I never knew I needed. Casting was perfect – loved the dynamics between Endo Kenichi, Suzuki Kosuke, and Okada Masaki
I laughed my heart out in a lot of scenes, especially the Yeti and donburi episodes

However, I was a bit flustered with the ending. Hope Marika's mother will not hurt her
Kudos to Maida Nono for a phenomenal performance

Nonetheless, the series was capped nicely; I did not expect the twist at the end
Truth be told, we don’t always get what we want in life – how wonderful it would be if the things we are passionate about will always lead to success.
This drama inspired me to not be afraid to chase our dreams even if things don't go as planned and to try again after experiencing failure.
