True. And that girl clearly pissed me offShe's such a spoiled brat. Always complaining about every damn thing…
Yep. Characters clichés are the trademark for this show. Same goes for the MC, which barely grow a spine after 15 or so episodes, and swiftly return to be a coward after that.

LOL! Their makeup is alcohol-proof, rain-proof, truck of doom proof... One of these days there's going to be a…
^^ "truck of doom proof" LOL. We should get a patent for this.

I hate this article. Mostly because I wish I could say 'this is all untrue' but probably ... can't ^^'.
Now this "Because in Kdrama Land, you’re still pretty when you’re drunk" made me outright laugh a few minutes. I can assure you girls you're still pretty, even drunk, but just ... not as much as in kdramaland (girls in there must have some very serious alcohol-proof make-up).

I wouldn't say this drama was not my cup of tea : after all, I was sufficiently interested in it to decide to watch it. But while I still think my review reflects my thoughts and analysis of the show at the time, my rating here (4) should be a little higher (a 5 or 6) considering what I usually give a 4 ... As it happens, i was thinking of updating my rating but forgot about it.
Thank you for remind me of it ^^

That's only my opinion, but to me Missing Noir is - if anything - highly overrated. Maybe still worth the watch, but I will still recommand it as the "last to see" in this list.
I can't agree more about Beautiful Mind though : a very good surprise if you're not expecting the best of it. Pretty much agree with the rest of the list too.
Thank you for your first MDL article, nicely done.

"Based on "Itazura na Kiss" by Kaoru Tada" ... Like, seriously ?? How many adaptations from this pitiful and overestimated rom are there already ? Was it absolutely necessary to add one more ? Pfft... - -'

My issue with them is that they wouldn't really be a match for each other if Min Joon was able to kill. I would…
Yes, this is where overpowered characters are usually a problem : they can produce or induce conflicts allright, but the falling action/resolution section (taking your curve into account) will happen ... fast. Really fast. Like villain-instant-death fast ^^'.
This is the "superman problem" (another all-powerful alien) : he can make ennemies, but how long the poor guys (I almost feel sorry for them) are gonna stand ?

I completely agree. The ending took its sweet time and made me want to skip through the last episode.
My thoughts, exactly. Took me even quite some restraint to not fully drop the last episode alltogether. A pity, really, considering how funny the drama was in its whole.

I'm not sure "You who came from the stars" is a good example of a "conflict done poorly" in your article. To me, you got it half right : the conflict between Min Joon and Jae Kyung solely exists BECAUSE it's silly. Why ? Because Min Joon becomes the only creature that Jae Kyung can't crush. The only being he can't do anything about it, therefore the one he MUST take down.

Just finished watching this, it was sooo amazing!!thx
I'm really glad u liked it. I've seen it years ago and don't remember it very well now, but I clearly can't forget how driven the revenge was. Left quite an impression on me at the time.

I wonder about the statement "girls prefer the gentle Prince Charming who's not afraid to show his love". If that was inconditionnaly true, ML jerks in k-dramas would not even exist.
Well, either way, I would still highly recommand ^^ prince charming over some of the unsufferable jerks we meet in k-dramas too often. That would spare me the irrepressible desire to punch them every 3 seconds. Along with the related mother-future-in-law.

I also just love how villains mob are actually quite bad at their villains job. Like 5 villains with heavy artillery and unlimited ammos incredibly fails to even breeze the good guy while he will kill them all with only 5 bullets (or 4, because villains are usually standing in a row) without even looking. That must take a special set of skills alright.

lol, it's always hilarious when that happens. Like 'how mad are you bro?' to just swipe everything off your desk.
Best when they end up hurting themself without realizing there's now an open wound bleeding. That's usually the cue for the girl to tend to her angry man.

I totally forgot to add one to the list. Time in the elevators. You could basically finish building a house and…
About this, I actually had a thought one day like this :
"OK, so they are probably in the slowest elevator possible in order to give the time for the K-drama crew to finish the decor of their actual destination because somehow, they didn't have the time before shooting."

"Le Comte de Monte Cristo" has an anime inspiration, and I think there's already some k-drama based on it. Won't mind another one. Jules Vernes books ("20000 lieues sous les mers") could give something pretty amazing (some kind of steam punk k-dramas ^^). Finally, as a romance SF, "La Nuit des temps " (René Barjavel, 1968).
