I have to agree, the story, the script in this movie were really bad. You have to completely turn off your brain…
Well what the movie was getting at were the inner/emotional obstacles between them which they had to overcome since the two seasons had used up all the external obstacles possible that could tear them apart (his mother and her emotional blackmail, love rivals, social disparity, etc). Personally, what I love most about the film was the way it expressed the message behind the false notion of the visibility of "eternal love", how it once again affirmed that Domyoji loved Makino's *being* and not because of any superficial attribute of hers, and his gratitude towards her parents for simply bringing her into existence. In fact, one of the best moments for me was when Domyoji knelt before them to express said gratitude since the respectful way he dealt with them (instead of being justifiably angry or pissed) was beautiful to see. It was not so much on the logic of the so-called plot involving the tiara that mattered.

i watched the film mainly for mao inoue. but i didn't enjoy this. neither did it make me cry or something. maybe because for me, the story really has to be very unique and brilliantly acted to make me shed a tear or two. but the plot is so generic. would i recommend it? probably to those who loved films like koizora. but i found koizora cringeworthy. so if you're like me, skip this movie.

This isn't exactly in response to the article but i gotta say that a few thai films are worth seeing. The sleeper hit romantic comedy "a little thing called love" and the horror flick "shutter" are worth watching :)

the degree of violence and gore in this film greatly disturbed me. but i admit this was done very well. i miss won bin onscreen. i hope he makes a comeback. he's a good actor.

i am asian and i agree with your remark that asian parents are strict. or rather, conservative. well my dad is at least.

yeah i noticed that the people barely eat their food or drink when they meet up to talk. there are some instances where it becomes obvious that there's no coffee inside either and the actor just pretends to drink.

the things i find impossible in dramas are all related to the mobile phones. there are dramas where one character is supposed to be really poor yet you see them own the latest phone models. and people who seem like total strangers in the drama call each other, i mean when did they even swap numbers if they didn't belong to the same network of acquaintances/friends?

this is a fun article btw.

This drama...is really giving me that "Autumn in my Heart" feeling. It's like watching Seok-Ho Yun's Four Season dramas all over again. First love, separation, reunion, dark family secrets, etc. Now I'm wondering if this series is going to end in a tragedy. Will probably hold this off for now. But the two guys are gorgeous. <3

I enjoyed it. It's like a fanfic made as a live action drama. I didn't know who these people were because I'm…
Yeah I felt that the screenwriter took one from those fanfics I read when I was a lot younger and made it into this cute and sweet mini-drama. Funny. I actually heard rumors that the Korean drama 49 Days was based on a popular fanfic about a Korean boy band named Shinhwa. I was curious so I looked it up. Although the producers denied it, there were some similarities between the two such as the possibility of being given a second chance at life after the girl got into a coma and the Scheduler riding a motorcycle. Maybe the writer took a few ideas and improvised on it. It would be great to see fanfics being adapted into live action dramas. A nice change from the usual manga-turned-drama we often see. :)

Perfection. There are not enough words to express the breathtaking beauty of this story. I tried looking but this film is practically without fault. It deserves the no.1 spot in the list of top movies on this website and i hope it stays there for a very long time. I express my deepest gratitude to everyone who made this film happen. Thank you. It reminded me of the beauty of the human soul, the purity of the love between a parent and a child and the genuineness of people whom we thought had lost all sense of goodness. The acting was astounding! Beautiful, just beautiful.

those who says koo hye sun can't act.... WATCH EP 6 and you will see what she really can do .... this drama is…
i hated goo hye sun with a passion as jan di. she killed makino's character. the thing is, she's just not good at comedy nor is she good at playing a teenager. and i blame the people who casted her there because the drama never gave her an opportunity to display her strengths as an actress due to the nature of the story of HYD. but she IS talented. i mean hello, that girl writes books, paints and directs her own films. i think melodrama is her forte.

erm. nodame cantabile is a really wacky, over the top drama and you know, korean dramas aren't very good at making their own version of japanese dramas of this kind. i don't mind chiaki but the role of noda megumi is the thing i'm concerned about. ueno juri did PERFECTLY as the weird, hilarious, childish yet talented nodame. and whenever an actor manages to cement a memorable character--especially a manga character--it's very, very difficult for subsequent actors to live up to that kind of standard. maybe i'll watch the first episode to decide.

I wonder why this is rated quite high? It was one of the worst stories i have ever seen. It held too much angst it became unrealistic and messy. I hate the fact that the ex gf of the guy managed to have the girl raped and got away with it. Didn't anyone find this disturbing, even just a little? It reminded me of the news where a 14 year old girl murdered another girl her age because they were fighting over the same guy. Further, it had a lot of loopholes in the storytelling. Terrible, ridiculous story which is not worth crying over. I mean just because someone dies doesn't make the story great or touching. Geez if you're gonna be looking for a stellar drama that can really make you cry, go for 1 litre of tears.
On Devil beside You Apr 30, 2014
I guess i'm part of the minority here but i did not find this drama appealing, or funny. It was just plain weird. The only good things are the main actor (he is gorgeous!) and the kissing scenes. I think the japanese are still the best at making their own live action dramas of their mangas.
On Twenty Years Old Apr 24, 2014
I enjoyed it. It's like a fanfic made as a live action drama. I didn't know who these people were because I'm not a fan of K-pop or Korean idols. Also, without reading the synopsis, I initially thought that this was a melodrama based on the poster and the title (anything with numbers usually spell "melo" for me) so I avoided it for a while. So glad I watched it. The story is very simple, caramel sweet and predictable but what made me love it was how well it was executed. The leads had great chemistry. I particularly like the lead actress; she seemed natural. So I was surprised to know that this was the first and only drama she starred in. It would be great to see her in more dramas. My only complaint is that it wasn't explained how the OTP reunited. It would have been nice to have a scene showing how they got back together.

This film was...okay. To be honest, it was underwhelming for me. Just average. Maybe because I was expecting something more, like regarding the truth about Yoo Ri's bestfriend for example. Some parts of the story weren't clarified. There were some funny moments though, like when she ripped his shirt when she got drunk and the end scene between the old guy friend of Jo Gu (sorry, don't know what his role was) and the ghost best friend. The "horror" is a lot like in Master's Sun i.e. not seriously scary. Overall, I'd give it a 5.5-6/10.

On A Werewolf Boy Apr 16, 2014
This movie was sort of like a fusion between Edward Scissorhands and the Beast Master manga. I wonder if the screenwriter of this movie borrowed a few ideas from them? Anyway, I loved loved loved Song Joong Ki here. He was able to express so much emotion only with his eyes and his character's fate broke my heart (but I did not like Soon Yi a lot for what she did). The film was beautifully done but really sad. It's the type of film I will not watch for the second time.
