It gets a bit confusing later on but after ep 16 there's more romance i guess you can say and its more funny

I read a comment and they said that the first part is based in the novel and the second part is not based on the novel and isn't suppose to connect with part 1 but who knows

Part 2 / Season 2 is what I think of this drama from ep 16, similar to maybe a new and fresh life. What basically happened is before ep 15 Rong Zhi ate a medicine which makes him forget what happened in the past and makes him be obedient according to what the drama said. However, I don't know how the main female lead forgot her memories. After ep 16, the female lead goes to the Rong Zhi's place and gets married to create peace. His hair and clothes changes since he's at his place and no longer at the female's place as a "Menke," but a Regent King so he has a higher status of course. I think he's also just using the other girl as well but he also falls in love with Chuyu soon. If you continue watching then it might make sense :)

1-17 seems like season 1 and the rest is season 2 but they put it together

there's a bit of the background story for the main leads but i forgot the episode
