“You women” was screaming sexism loud and clear there’s not enough women empowerment shows compared to the amount of shows focused on men treating women as mere possessions but I’m glad this one really popular show ruined it for you so that’s a win for “us women”

We’re already getting episode 25 in a few hours but I wish I could go back to watching it from episode 1 for the first time again. It has become my absolute favorite drama. I waited over a year for this. I used to dream about this pairing of Tian Xiwei annd Zhang Linghe. I still can’t believe we actually got them.

Highly recommend it! I read it before the drama aired and I’m rereading again going along with the drama to compare the differences

I hadn’t found a drama this year that I am waiting for each episode at the edge of my seat til this one. The actors are nailing their roles especially ml and fl. Each of them are dynamic and have so much depth while being smart, skilled, expressive and cunning. They are matching each other’s energy and the chemistry is great. So excited for the next episodes 15 & 16.

The director is so real for that because he looks so good doing it

I really don’t understand how this isn’t rating higher this has a bit of everything and the leads are portraying such interesting and charming characters very well. Xukai and Tian Xiwei have such a magnetic chemistry where it feels very natural and like their characters just fit each other perfectly. Their kiss scenes and bed scenes are just wow and even when they aren’t saying much but there’s this undercurrent of yearning between them. I knew Xiwei would be able to be very expressive with her big eyes and every time she gets teary eyed, I cried too. Only 7 more episodes but I’m not ready for this to end. Excited to see how they resolve the thing inside her and their relationship.

She previously had similar roles of being a silly clumsy princess/lead this is her first serious role as a strong female lead I always knew she had it in her but just hadn’t gotten the opportunity to show it as she’s pretty strong and fearless as a person in general

Yes! Great big sister energy that she knows what her sister needs and wants quietly giving those things to li’an without credit or acknowledgement. I like how both sisters are quite different. I hope they will become close soon

The connection was pretty evident with how li’an pleaded with the emperor to save Qi’an.
