The story follows immortal Cheng Bi and Chang Qing who are partners in running a restaurant which specialises in monster/mythical cuisine. They encounter different mythical creatures and people, which creates a story arch over a few episodes, exploring themes of love, betrayal, family. These stories look at the relationships between “monster” and human, our MCs aid them to resolve their challenges, resulting in a moral lesson learned. The director has also directed a few other dramas I have liked in the past. He has done a good job creating a unique fantasy historical setting.
After getting past a confusing start, I have caught up to ep 7 and actually enjoying the story, the pacing is good, the characters and dialogue engaging. It’s playful and doesn’t take itself too seriously, yet intentional. If u liked WYS in Young Blood and AYX in Let’s shake it, you will like their characters here.
I can see how this may not be for everyone, it’s unconventional and very different from what is currently trending and mainstream.

I wouldn’t say prohibited, but not everyone knows what torrents are and then people don’t really advertise that they are using them. I’ve been around awhile and have seen people post about them
This was so good, i need to rewatch now to fully understand everything, was such a complex and atmospheric miniseries. All the music were total bangers. Would love a season 2
