A well-made medical drama first of all

For me, without any special medical know-how, this appears to be a very well-made medical drama. There are some romance, but it is kept on the lighter level, I would say.

The story revolves around the FL Yoo Hye Jeong, who had a difficult childhood, leading her to be a rebellious youngster who skipped school, fought, and was expelled several times. She ends up living with her grandmother, who manages to get through to her by giving her affection and LOVE. She also catches the attention of fellow class mate Cheon Sun Hui, who sticks to her instantly, and what turns out to be her new homeroom teacher, Hong Ji Hong (who is also a doctor by profession).
I would say these three people first sparked the ignition of change for her, then further fueled by another classmate Jin Seo U.
YHJ is very intelligent, and once she sets her mind to something, she follows through. She ends up acing her exam. But, adolescent feelings can be strong, and jealousy sets in, resulting in a serious chain of events affecting several.

Years later, YHJ is an extremely skilled neurosurgeon who takes a position at a renowned hospital where Jin Seo U's father works in a high position. Jin Seo U also works there as a neurosurgeon, and it so happens that the hospital also just hired Hong Ji Hong. Will old wounds heal when these fates intertwine again, or will new tragedies strike?

Each episode has a story of it's own, as quite often seen in these kind of dramas. Some of them do trail over a couple of episodes, or gets concluded later on. I did miss a follow-up on her friend who had the accident, though. Wish they had given us just a tiny follow-up on that.
As for the story, I am a bit conflicted about the power-struggle for the hospital. I kind of feel the drama could have worked fine without these schemes.

When it comes to the performances of the cast, I don't have anything to put my finger on. Park Shin Hye (FL) is strong and nailing her character pretty well, and Kim Rae Won (ML) is charming and convincing in his portrayal.
The supporting actors are also doing their job well.

Should you watch it? If you like medical dramas, yes. If you expect strong romance, you might be disappointed. This is more of a slow, soft/light touch romance.
