The Candle in the Tomb franchise is truly the best of the tomb raiding book adaptations. Clear focus on plot and characters without any contrived romances/relationships. Also some of the traps and mechanisms are pretty interesting with a nice dose of Chinese history and mythology.

I disagree. The ML does have an issue with being a controlling person but he wasn't asking for her permission to accept this. He was expressing this with a sense of fear that this may become a problem in their relationship. He is aware of this (and honestly, being aware will make change come easier) and towards the end, has shown that he can slowly change his character for her. Qi Nian can still refuse a marriage in ep23 despite all his desperation to be with her but in the end, she chooses to run to him precisely because he says that he can wait/take things slower for her sake. ML isn't a perfect prince by any means but he isn't expecting the FL to accept his issues lying down, and considering her character she probably won't.

I only know the schedule for Tencent users, not sure if it's the same for WeTV users, but if you have VIP status, you can essentially finish all the episodes on Dec 3 by paying a little extra for advance episodes (17-24) otherwise the final episodes will air on Dec 17. If you're a non-member or watching it on Youtube, the final episodes will be aired on Dec 25.

Yes that's exactly what I think will happen. In fact, I suspect he already knows about her manga and isn't 100% sure if all her flirtations with him are genuine or for the sake of acquiring story material. Hence the "act" with the other woman.
