Which is the incest couple? Are you referring to the two guys who were fencing? It seems Khim's older brother…
I meant Kim and his brother at that time. Precisely, during the scene when Rain put his hand on Kim's chest to figure out how he feels after the performance π
But I'm fine with him and Phayu, as long as Rain won't act like the 'spoiled, cruel young master' type. Which he probably won't.
I'm also more interested in the side couples than the mains already, since they might be more fresh and believable. Let's see how they'll set them up π
(a) If Shin is 17, he will be legal in just one year because Japan's regular "Age of Consent" is 18. (b) Japan…
I didn't google it, nor did I study the law, so I don't know what "the youngest you can have sex with without breaking a law" is in Japan.
The show doesn't state it in any way, and it's based on manga, so the original source might work within rules of its own.
I presume you didn't just come up with those numbers on your own, so it's entirely possible it's 13 (which isn't the case in my country).
That's not the point I'm trying to make, though, and it doesn't interest me. I can concede to you that depending on the situation and regional justice system, Minato wouldn't in theory break the law if he got intimate with Shin now. But again, I didn't mean to imply that either way π
Here I am ! πβThey are riding the wave OhmFluke, but I really liked the first episode.I reserve my opinion…
I cried during the opening scene of UWMA! πππ
But I feel that if you want to do this kind of very dramatic story with possible supernatural elements right, you should start slow, gradually build up the tension, and still try to keep it fairly believable. Emotional scenes only move me if I find them believable, and preferably relatable.
UWMA started well, but got more "out there" with the main pairing very unnaturally for me. So I couldn't relate to them. The side couple and their past versions saved it for me.
I'm not sure who the side couples will be in this, and whether I'll like them or not. But I will give them some more time to set it up and see π

Here you are! π
I don't have any strong feelings towards Ohm or Fluke either way, just that I only saw them playing these dramatic roles.
It very much feels like someone wanted another UWMA. I'm not fan of UWMA (only liked the side couples). So this might not be a show for me. But I want to give it one more chance, since there is some potential.

"You are viewing this from a Western lens."
No. I'm viewing it from my lenses. We all have different set of morals and values. If someone's okay with watching two 13 olds being intimate, that's for them to judge. If someone's morally fine with 17yo having a relationship with 27yo, that's also on them.
I'm not fine with it. That's why I said I'm uncomfortable with it, and that I want a timeskip should they become substantially closer than they are now. We all have our own conscience to deal with.
Minato himself seems to be aware of the potential problems stemming from their age gap, that's why he's (so far) holding back. We will see when and how their relationship changes.
Also, I was using the word 'jail' in comedic connotation, which I thought was obvious from the context. I don't actually expect any of them to be arrested.
Imma get some heat for this, but what the hell is going on? I would say the leads can't act to save their lives, but considering how overdramatic the whole show is, it might have been the directing. Unforgotten Night is possibly acted out better.
It's like the producer watched UWMA and was like : "I want that, but ten times as dramatic with half the runtime." It's just way too much. Not subtle. Not clever. Just "deep". It spells out everything for you, thrice. Actors' faces are so animated a blind person could see what they're trying to do. There's so much 'fate'. So much brooding. So much 'hidden' pain and so much angst. I don't know if I want to continue it. This level of drama, I expect from low-budget telenovelas.
It's not entirely horrible, but it's far from good. Maybe I could just laugh it off week by week, if I have time for that. Similarly to Unforgotten Night, but UN's Kim is way cuter π
"Who was I born for?" - Oh, so it really is one of those dramas about fate and destiny.
This is so unintensionally funny! I'm legit crying over here π€£π€£π€£
I don't think I can handle an hour of this. Everything is like the most overacted scene from UWMA, turned up 500 percent.
Is he a compulsive apple eater?
I'm starting to ship the incest pairing π¬
If you're gonna make these fantasy-like fate stories, you have to make them believable! Otherwise, it's just a bunch of people looking way out of their minds and it ends up being hella cringey.
This feels exactly like main 'present' pairing in UWMA. Pretending to be deep, overacted to the max, with fake tears and weird facial expressions. The grave music and visuals don't help it at all. Quite the opposite.
I'm already giving up on this story.
You know what they say about big feet π (They're none of your business, weirdo!)
"Happy Birthday to me." That's so sad! π Also very peculiar, but the least of my worries regarding Sun.
Doesn't his face hurts after a day of shooting? That must be some intensive workout!
Of course it's an ex-girlfriend. How could we get a *dramatic* BL without one of those? π¨
The fork was that water bottle scene?
Dry off his shirt, too πΆ
This is more dramatic than "Want To See You". And no, that's not a compliment. Nor an excuse.
It's like they heard the 'show, don't tell' phrase and decided to do both of them, twice as much as is needed. Just to be super safe.
Definitely way more talking. So deep.
The scene with Kim turning on lights is actually pretty nice. I expected it to be a scare for Sun.
Okay, that's it. I'm just... confused is the closest word I can think of. I guess this is a goodbye, at least for now π
Tol is a bit dense when it comes to Mai π
No worries! I appreciate you commenting π

Kim is hot. And that's probably it.
