When you want to watch remake...dont compare. Some people watch LOCH the first time in different series, therefore they have their own preference, therefore it will never be fair comparison. Some people just want to criticize they took pic of Huang Rong and Auyang when they look bad and then using it to attack them. Actually to be fair, Bao Shangen play so well and portray Huang Rong nicely. Each their own, its art. Then there is people who compare with the book and want it to be exactly as the book, what a pedantic, and actually the tencent or youku said, they will make jin yong movie second rate as it will never be success due to the picky jin yong fans. And soon there will be no more Jin Yong movie or drama. that what so called Jin yong fans kill it. So sad. And the new author looking at this bad condition will write Xianxia instead
Here is my experience, the last time i watch remake of this is 2017 is a good remake and following the book faithfully. This one, i watch it and disregard the book , and amazed how good they make 30 episode and emphasizing on the main storyline. And they did it beautifully. It is compact, it is bring back those beautiful memory. Overall, if you willing to disregard all those who want to compare, criticize or want it to be as exact as the book then dont watch. If you are those with open mind and love good wuxia serie , this is the one. Dont miss it.
