Sooooo this is going to be a sad but confused ending? That's the vibe I'm getting from this comment section. Please tell me I'm wrong ㅠㅠ

CAST & CHARACTER APPRECIATION:

The characters are beautifully crafted and wonderfully portrayed. My personal favorite is Wu Gang's CPP. If this is ever remade, I don't think I will see a better CPP or a FX or a Shen Gong or the lil FX lol.
One of the things I admire about this drama/story is that every character is at par with the other in terms of either wit or strength.
Grand Princess Li Yun Rui is captivating. Her beauty & acting is just *Italian chef's kiss*
Haitang Duoduo is cute! I feel the modern touch in the historical society with duoduo & FX. Not to mention Lin Waner. I don't usually like the damsel in distress type but Waner is an exception lol. She is considerate but stubborn & has modern ideals.
Fan Ruoruo is probably the definition of loyalty lol. She doesn't question her elder brother and believes in him no matter what. The actress is super cute!
The Emperor Liu Yu's character is quite lovely. I like his interactions with his subjects. He's the perfect fit to play the emperor.

Honestly I could write an entire essay on each character & the respective actors lol. The casting director did a really great job! Kudos!

Neither does the emperor nor CPP cares that much for FX like his adoptive father. Their ambition shadows their concern for FX.
I'm guessing it's the second prince as well. He's been quiet for way too long lol

In 1998, 6y/o HYX also existed when HYX-CYR was there. The time travel & parallel dimension is a seeming paradox right now. I suppose we could only get the answers by the end of the series!

Man, this show had great potential only to chuck it all down in the drain with the ending -_-
And what's up with QX! My God that was a disaster! Li YiTong is a good actor. Too bad her potential was wasted on such an unreasonable character :/
The pace of this drama is so uneven. It should have been a 50 ep drama. The ending was rushed and makes no sense!

Queen dies. King lives. QX dies. God knows what happens to DN. Crown prince is dying. The other prince is probably going to inherit Heng. Hmmm.

I reached no realm but I sure spat blood a lot after watching this.

Would I recommend? Ehh why not! Go spit some blood too!

This is sooooooo good that I regret starting this drama while airing. God damnit. Now I need to wait for the subs too (╯ರ ~ ರ)╯︵ ┻━┻

Trust me & give it a go! I was intrigued and skeptical at the same time because of the plot--female master & the male disciple scenario; it's kinda rare. At first glance, the FL was not exactly eye catching but man she nailed the character! Her expressions are over the top yet it feels like Wang Wu's not Sandrine's. There's like almost a century difference in their age lolol so the visual age gap doesn't look that bad imo. Love the chem btw the leads. My FL expectations have risen XD I hope to see more FL char like Wang Wu! The ML's 4th wall breaks are funny lmao! So do give it a try^^

Man this was such a great drama. I'm sad that it's over :( This is a gem tbh. I wish ppl don't put it off because it's slow or it's 73 eps. I was never into slow paced drama too but I thought I would give this a try and boyy was I hooked! I recommend this 10/10 :')

Ignore the summary. It makes the movie sound dull. The movie is really good. Give it a go. This is a 10 for me cuz of Kim Da Mi's acting!

I agree. He's bitter with jealousy and his pride was probably shattered when he realized that she wasn't as obsessedly in love with him as he was. To add fuel to the fire GTY, being a mutual friend, ended up marrying her while QH was rejected even though he had plenty time to approach ML but he didn't want to lose face while proposing marriage to her because he's a widower & he failed the imperial exam already.
I don't blame him but the least thing he can do is move on truly. Instead he marries another lady and doesn't treat her right. In this way, he's quite similar to GTY's dad. I don't think he'll become a bad character in the series but I think there might be some chaos because of his wife maybe.
