I've always see this show as young adults figuring out life who also happen to fall in love. You'd really have…
well it started out as a bl with a character who happens to have disability. but now somehow it's turned into a show about disability? if they really wanted to focus on disability, they should do that from the beginning, not trick us into thinking this was a potential love story between two boys. my problem is the sudden shift in storytelling. you don't have to let go of romance just to focus on disability. both can be shown simultaneously.
at this point, it's not even slow burn, it's more like no burn. i think the writer had amnesia and forgot this was supposed to be a bl. or is it even a bl to begin with i wonder now.
ok so we wait patiently episode after episode and finally we see some progress, and the next thing you know, this random girl shows up out of nowhere and starts taking up majority of screen time, acts like she is the main character, tries her best to keep the boys apart, has annoying personality, is rude to others. and you expect us to cheer for her. why are you forcing her on us? it's not like i hate her, i just don't care enough about her to hate her. i just wanted the show to get back to the main story that was left unfinished. she can have her own thing and showcase the different aspect of disability all she wants, but not at the expense of the boys.
this maya girl ruined this otherwise beautiful show for me. why do we need her pov when we already don't have enough time? im gonna finish this for nakazawa motoki, i really like his acting, and he looks so much like zhang linghe. i think next episode is time jump.
lol people ask why some people are not liking the show and when you answer their question, you are told to shut up. this is a comment section where you are allowed to express your opinion about the show whether you like it or not.
i see that many in the comments are baffled by some of us not liking the show. im not shitting on the show because of the mundane school stuff or slow burn or not having nc scenes... but because im simply not connecting with the characters or the story. i don't find the school stuff interesting because it's simply not interesting. i blame the poor screenwriting. i don't see the chemistry, i don't feel sad in emotional scenes, or happy when there is an interaction between the boys, the scenes are all jumbled up mess, dialogues are not engaging, characters look older for highschoolers, yes it does pull you out of the scene and make acting unconvincing, eg character trying to act cute looks bit cringy to me. the show needs a good editor, there are too many unnecessary scenes, too many secondary characters that don't bring anything to the table. why so many teachers? and why so much screen time given to them? who's that guy the ml talks to on the phone? i don't even know what they are talking about? and i don't even care.
ok i truly wanted to like this series because of its similarity to stay with me. i even tried watching ep 4 twice but sorry i can't keep torturing myself. don't get me wrong, i love slow burn but not this kind of slow. it's not slow in terms of pacing, it is slow because it's dull, nothing interesting is happening, there is no chemistry, the acting doesn't look natural, don't know what the story is about. i just hope the book is better.
if only they had cast younger actors and cut the length of the episodes, it would have been so much better. i don't care about actors' age as long as they look the part, but that's not the case here.
Kohei kissed Taichi and confessed his feelings. Taichi didn't yet share those feelings and they decided to remain…
yes exactly. ok fine if the author wants to show about disability but at least be sincere about it. why make us believe it's a bl from the start and make us invested into their relationship, but then suddenly change the focus of the storyline afterwards. i actually like bl with disability but it needs to be done correctly.
Kohei kissed Taichi and confessed his feelings. Taichi didn't yet share those feelings and they decided to remain…
everything was ok up until the girl shows up in ep 7. after that it felt like a different show. kohei act kind of indifferent to taichi. i get that he wants to be a friend now which is ok but there has to be some tension know? when he just kissed the guy and confessed to him. but he acts like nothing happened. may be he is good at hiding his feelings but we as a viewer needs some kind of subtle confirmation here and there to be able to understand what's going on in his mind. finally in ep 10 we get something. hence the inconsistency.
Kohei kissed Taichi and confessed his feelings. Taichi didn't yet share those feelings and they decided to remain…
yes i thought so too but then the characters start acting inconsistently and sudden shift of focus on other characters makes you wonder what is even happening. the story deviates so much so that i don't even know what is going on now.
ep 10 done and still zero progression. im not even sure if this is a bl. i don't see any chemistry. they act like they are friends. didn't they kiss in one of the earlier episodes? so why are they acting as if that didn't happen? why all this misunderstanding? why are they still confused? we have only two episodes left now ! this is beyond frustrating.
the pacing is slow, the dialogue delivery is slow. even after speeding up, everything is still too slow. i tried but can't continue with this show now 🥱😴
this one had so much potential! but now they are dragging it too much. i don't understand the dialogues, can't stand kobayashi's acting, why is the girl even on the show!! everything is so messed up.
They had budget cut due to a producer who went bakrupt. This is too bad we could not watch the ending as it was…
maybe that happened during the last episodes because the beginning episodes had so many better fight scenes. I'm still sad about the last episode. we missed such a pivotal scene. i've not read the book but i was hoping to see an epic battle, then ji yang dying, turning into ashes, nan yan crying. i wanted to see their pain and emotion, then the reunion could have been even better.
