That was a quick watch. Longer episodes to flesh out their relationship would’ve been better coz it felt like they fell for each other quite quickly. Tbh I wasn’t too invested in the investigation part lol. But my God, they can KISS!!! Probably the best one I’ve seen in a BL!! And Kim Yoonsik....so gorgeous!! And with that acting, why isn’t he doing mainstream lead roles by now?

We needed more of Qingyi’s daddy era. It wasn’t enough 😭

I actually loved the second arc more. It’s where the real story begins. We get the answers to what happened all those years ago. The emotional core of the story is in the second arc, it shows why the characters are the way they are today, what they had to go through to become who they are, how their relationships were affected by everything that happened....everything starts to make sense, the past and present finally come together.

Why feel bad for the actors? All the actors get to show their acting skills with such heavy and challenging scenes. You rarely get material like that in other dramas. As for ZLH, this is his best work yet. He was phenomenal.

This was more about stocks and finance, which went completely over my head, than an actual BL lol. MLs are cute together though and I’m looking forward to their next project. I hope that one won’t bore me to death.

And where was Luqing’s mom all this time anyway? Wasn’t she the one they were most afraid of disappointing when it came to revealing their relationship?

Ep 1 was interesting, definitely gonna watch more.

It’s such a well made drama that when you rewatch it, you appreciate it even more. Rewatching has so many perks....you notice small details, see the connections between the characters and their conversations, and see how everything ties together. People keep saying the first few episodes aren’t good, tbh I find them hard to get into myself, which is what normally happens to me when I start any drama. It takes a few episodes to get to know all the characters, their names, their motives, not to mention the language barrier and having to focus on the subs just to remember what the hell is actually going on lol. But on a second watch, I swear you realise that the earlier episodes are actually really nicely done. They pave the way for establishing the characters, their personalities, their relationships. From the get go, it’s bang after bang. Not a single episode is filler.

Ok about to start this one. I hope it lives up to its hype. I’m not a fan of Korean BLs but I’m gonna give it a try.

After all the dragging, it seems like we’re finally getting what we want in the last two episodes lol.

If you want to get over the trauma of the final episode, just go back and rewatch ep 2. It’ll cure you.

It’s even better on a second watch. I don’t have to pay much attention to the subs this time. I can just sit back and enjoy the acting.

It's ep 8 and Xiao Fan is still running around doing his family's bidding. When is this man going to grow a backbone and learn to say No! It’s so frustrating! The pacing is slow, character growth is slow, the way they talk is slow, on top of that, all the other characters are super annoying. I'm not even sure if Xiao Fan loves his Ge. He sure worships him but love? Does he even know his own feelings? Feels like he is just going along with whatever other people want him to do. Seriously where is the sweet part in this bittersweet love story!

Same! I have a soft spot for dramas with brotherhood. I was bawling my eyes out at the scene where Qingyi was cleaning up Boze’s dead body.

Yeah he finally found a director who really appreciated his work. I’m really grateful that he got to work with a director and screenwriter who treated each and every character with so much respect and care. Overdo isn’t just a drama about romance or the main character’s journey. The entire cast has their own poignant journey and we hardly ever see this kind of storytelling in cdramas.

Going in, I already knew he was good at playing evil characters, handling emotional scenes and had great comedic timing. But what surprised me the most was his action scenes. He was really good at that too! And now that I’ve watched the BTS of those action scenes and seen that he did everything himself, I just can’t wait to see him in an action movie.

Yes he was brilliant in both but POJ didn't really let him showcase his full acting range. As for the drama itself, POJ was so good but the last 10 or so episodes ruined it for me. Kunning Palace was another drama where I really enjoyed his performance. He knows how to play evil.

I actually liked him more in Journey to You. I really loved the hero’s journey his character went through.

I’m about to rewatch this drama, and yeah don’t listen to others or go by the rating here. Just make your own judgment. For me, this is the best cdrama I’ve watched to date. If you’re a fan of ZLH, you should definitely watch this. This is his best work yet.

That’s what I believe. Not sure if they actually shot those scenes and cut them in the editing room but they definitely sacrificed other characters’ arcs for the sake of the FL. They didn’t show proper fight scenes for any of the other characters. Even the anticipated fight scene between the evil brothers was cut out. They literally cut out all the other battle scenes except for the FL’s. So yeah it makes you wonder.

I swear I want to beat up every single one of Xiao Fan’s family members. Such a pathetic excuse for a family he has.

ok i've only watched the first john wick movie lol. but yeah would love to see him in something like john wick. with his immense screen presence, i know he’d kill a role like that.
