I thought it was pretty nicely paced. if anything, the second half dragged a little for me. What I love about…
I also like that Japanese BLs don't rely on filler episodes but lately the episodes seem to be getting shorter and fewer. The pacing was fine until Futami showed up. I know he was necessary for the progression of the main couple's relationship, but with such limited time, they could have used that time to focus more on the MLs.
Japanese BLs are either less heavy or too heavy in the intimacy department lol. It just feels unrealistic to watch two people who are already together act so awkward around each other afterward. Their body language doesn't feel like that of a real couple. This happens a lot in Japanese BLs and it bugs me every time. I can practically feel their awkwardness through the screen.
The problem with this drama is that it's too short. Needed longer episodes to fully delve into the story and characters. Loved the younger couple but they were shown too little. Loved the MLs but we didn't even get to see them as a couple properly. I don't know why Japanese BLs tend to have this rigid awkwardness between couples that makes them look like they lack genuine intimacy.
Overall, addictive, good but could have been better.
The writing needs a bit more work. The storyline seemed to get quite repetitive at times. The acting was ok but not great, apart from Ayden. And why the second couple?! I just don’t understand the unnecessary fixation of Chinese BLs on always having a second couple no matter what. Such a waste of screen time.
But seriously, the highlight of the drama is the chemistry between the main leads. Both actors were so natural and comfortable with each other. Their kissing is top tier!! That NC scene in ep11 alone deserves an extra rating!! It's one of the best I’ve seen!! I don’t think anything will top that anytime soon. I only wish it was longer.
People still hate the brother but not the rapist boyfriend? Meanwhile the brother and his boyfriend are the ones…
Well, this show is fiction and Lu Feng isn't a real person, is he? Try to keep fictional characters in fiction and not judge them by real life standards or situations.
I have to say, the NC scene in Episode 11 is probably one of the best I've seen in a BL! I'd rather watch a BL with no NC scenes or even kiss scenes if those scenes suck. Idk somehow I can feel how uncomfortable the actors are when doing those scenes. But nope, not here. Not an ounce of hesitation from the two actors.
I applaud the actors and the production team for having the guts to do this in a Chinese BL and not censor it out.
I'm not someone who ships real life actors, but if you follow their BTS, reaction videos and livestreams, I bet my money that they're together in real life too, which makes this show even more special despite its many flaws.
But they don't deserve low rating because of a side character that is present in a lot of families nowadays. Not…
Don't worry, I'll give it extra points just for those NC scenes! Nope the actor who played the brother isn't a good actor which is why it's irritating to watch him. Otherwise it would at least be bearable.
I swear I'm going to rate this low just because of that annoying little brother! He's constantly getting in the way of Lu Feng and Yichen and it's so frustrating to watch. I've said this before, the dynamic between those two brothers feels anything but brotherly. Obviously the author is trying to insert a trope that is not new to Chinese and Taiwanese BLs.
I just don’t get why some people here are so up in arms about giving others lectures on morality. If you are so high and mighty and morally superior, then why bother watching this “filth” in the first place? Oh and if you didn’t know about this prior to watching, then you are either lying or dumb or both. THERE HAS BEEN A BOOK AND A MOVIE ABOUT THIS FOR MORE THAN A DECADE! So if you still don’t know what you’re getting yourself into before watching it, then that’s entirely on you. Just don’t come at me for enjoying what I enjoy, ok!
Contrary to what others think, I feel both Lu Feng and Yichen are equally obsessed with each other. The difference is that one expresses it openly while the other doesn’t.
