What made Tik and Aom's version memorable was their explosive chemistry and how both nailed their characters:…
I agree with your "clownish" description of Push's character in the beginning. This was my first Push drama and although I thought he looked good as expected, I didn't really think much of him until after the fallout from the wedding and everything that followed. That's when I realized he's a very strong actor and when I started to like the drama and Push himself. I do agree I wish they chose a different actress as that would have made it better but I still felt they did good together. The chemistry was there. I wish you had continued so you could see the upward progression as things got serious.

Hey!Ah it's always so refreshing to see Slap/Kiss lovers tbh!I'm glad you found this article and it included dramas…
I was the same with Sawan Biang but my curiosity got the best of me. And after watching, I thought it was not just a great Lakorn but a great drama in general. It was one of those dramas where I said to myself: wow, this is why we watch dramas.

I personally like her dramas😁 but I mean if it isn’t your taste then it isn’t I’m not gonna judge your…
Lol thanks for understanding. I wish I do (the cast is always stellar) but just can't get into them.

Thank you for the detailed list. This genre is what got me into Thai dramas, as it goes hand in hand with love/hate trope that I enjoy watching. My favorite hands down is Hua Jai Sila (2019), especially after rewatching. My other favorite is Sawan Biang, which I believe you had it on your first list. Just phenomenal! Both of them delivered strong acting from the male leads (and from the rest of the cast). The build up to the fallout were executed with perfection in both that they were such satisfying watch.

In my humble opinion, screenwriter Kim Eun Sook's dramas should be at the top of this list. I've either finished them but they left me unsatisfied or they were forgettable (The Heirs, Secret Garden) or I could not finish at all as I found them rather boring (The King: Eternal Monarch, Goblin, Descendants of the Sun). And I'm an avid drama watcher; I've seen hundreds. But I just don't like her dramas (believe me, I've tried) so I really don't understand why they get so highly rated/popular.

Indeed a great steamy kiss scene but the one in Before We Get Married tops it, as well as the chemistry between…
Oh, I have not seen that one but I don't doubt it! Taiwanese dramas have always been liberal with their kiss scenes, which I have appreciated since the days of Devil Beside You.

One of my new fave actors. Been binging on his dramas and it’s like WTF! He’s super handsome, has a killer…
I am now you from 10 months ago, lol. I haven't stalked his instagram yet but been binging on his dramas. I could not agree more on his acting and the way he always embodies his characters. I thought he looked the hottest in Roy Leh Sanae Rai even though he is too classy for that drama. My favorite thus far is I Wanna Be Sup'Tar.

This man is not only one of the most beautiful men on the planet, he is also an outstanding actor, that it almost seems unfair. I watched four of his dramas in a few short weeks. I don't know how I can get over this crush. Help.

Hands down, my favorite is A Love So Beautiful. This drama will always hold a special place in my heart. I have so much feels for this show it's hard to articulate with words at times. Whenever I watch it again, I have a goofy smile on my face.

I actually saw this house twice, I don't remember the name of the other lakorn. It belongs to a veteran actor…
Oh that's interesting! I'm a new fan of Thai dramas and have been binging on many lately so I have started to see the same houses (or more like mansions lol) popping up here and there so I understand what you're saying. But this one looks so one of a kind that I can't imagine it fitting anywhere but in this drama haha. And I can't get over this pairing at the moment! They're so awesome together.

When I first saw this house, I thought it was so ugly. But as the story progressed, I started to find it charming, quirky, unique, just like change of heart from Push's character toward Gypso's!

This drama had so much potential to be at the top of my list of best romantic comedies. Alas, it left me disappointed instead. It's worth watching though if you're prepared for the downside. I pretty much skipped through all the nonsense thanks to the comments/reviews so I wasn't as frustrated as someone without any prior knowledge of how messy it would get. The leads kept me watching. The middle was so, so good. Push and Gypso played off each other so well. They are fantastic together, so well that they left me wanting more. I have seen four of Push's dramas and I believe he has the best chemistry with Gypso here. Also, I think you have to like the female lead to like this drama and I, for one, liked her. She is hilarious; an adorable oddball.

Edit:
That being said, the rewatch made it a better experience. When the rush to know what would happen next was out of the way and there wasn't much expectation, I found my disappointment decreasing and my like for the drama increasing manifold (prompting me to write a long review--a lot more happy thoughts there), all thanks to the leads. I've found this to be the case with many Thai dramas personally. So ultimately, it is no doubt worth a watch.

I love Kento but I am surprised Yokohama Ryusei is not on this list. He was amazing in Hajimete Koi wo Shita Hi ni Yomu Hanashi and Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru.

This is in the trashy but watchable category in my book. You'll be able to watch it if:

1. You like Push. This was my first Push drama and I have to say/agree he is one of the most beautiful men I have ever seen. And on top of that, he's a good actor. Naturally, he is the main reason I kept watching.
2. You like love/hate premise (second half). The leads' chemistry is on fire whenever they are arguing. I actually liked the 2nd half, which is more serious and has substance.
3. You're a professional in the art of skip watching a drama. This drama is littered with way too many unnecessary, trashy women doing nothing but fight. Skip skip skip.
4. You can stomach some of the ML's douchey behavior (and inappropriate background music used to cover it up).

Ok, I know they're just smiling at each other most of the time but I'm grinning like an idiot every time I see…
Also, the male lead's smile just melts my heart.

Title Sawan Biang
I'd been putting off watching this drama because of the subject matter; I didn't know if I could handle it. When I finally did, I found that the ugliness described is pretty accurate. But you have to see it to understand why in spite of the train wreck that is before you, you can't look away. I was blown away by the twisted love story and the incredible acting. Kawee felt like a living, breathing person, not just a character. He is Narin's worse nightmare. He terrorizes her. He is belligerent, reckless. And yet, he elicited sympathy from me. I don't know what that says about me. But that's honestly how I felt.

Sawan Biang is an unforgettable melodrama, filled with extremely flawed characters. It's also about love, forgiveness, redemption. I ask that you watch it first before passing judgement. It's one of the best dramas I've ever seen.

I'm a huge fan of hate to love premise and this drama delivered in that respect. The leads are such strong actors oozing with chemistry. Aum is so good at playing bad boys and he looks great while at it, too. I also really like the female lead. She displays mental fortitude in the face of many challenges brought upon by Aum's character. I loved her bring-it-on attitude. It was amusing to see him get all worked up because of her. But when she starts to understand him, she shows maturity and guides him in the right direction. In a way, it is a story about one man's journey to learn to love again and become human in the process. You can expect gun fights, violence and abuse against women and children here, as is typical of Lakorns. But as described, there was plenty to love about this drama. I enjoyed it (but do note that I did skip anything unrelated to the leads).

This was certainly not a perfect drama. It started out refreshingly different but ended up predictable. Even so, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, largely due to how charming Moon Ga Young was in portraying Ju Kyung. She was so endearingly funny and genuinely cute that it was hard to dislike her, even when she made questionable choices. Also, I may be in the minority here, but, I am team Su Ho (Cha Eun Woo) all the way. I liked Hwang In Yeop's Seo Jun very much but there was no denying Su Ho's (character) attractiveness in a conventional way. Anyway, so much happened in each episode that words would not do justice to convey how entertaining this show was, so just go watch it!

This was such a fun ride. And they took the tag ā€œsteamy kissā€ to a whole new level. Hands down, theirs was the best ā€œfinally, they did the deedā€ scene in all of dramaland, ha. They looked so natural, so real, so good together that I felt as if I was intruding on their privacy for watching. Come for the meta references and the sizzling romance and you won't be disappointed.
