FL os not ready for lead roles I'm sorry. It's just painful to watch. I really want to love this drama, trying so hard for our man LYR.. I'm just episode 1. So... I'll continue trying.

I remember Love and Destiny. It was such a good drama and I love it. Sure, he's bit matured, but Chang Chen is a well-known actor worldwide and also an award-winning actor. But I also love Zhang Linghe in Pursuit of Jade. So, there shouldn't be strict guidelines as to casting actors into roles.
Story is good, effects, camera works and fight scenes are pretty impressive. But it solely relying on WXY's popularity alone to garner the interest to watch.
I understand it is not a romance drama, but you still need chemistry between main leads, and wow factor from both. FL is meh...sorry. Her acting is so-so, visual also not so captivating nothing extraordinary. Looks like the production is aiming to introduced less known actors to limelight.
Reason I'm watching was because of Peng Xiaoran - my favourite actress. Lay Zhang was okay, although I would prefer to watch just both of them as ML and FL.
Was happy with the whole drama until the last 2 episodes. The final scene of the FL and villain could have been much better; did the director call in sick that day? it's was horribly executed. She doesn't need to fall; she could've escaped with so many opportunities, and FFS why is she sympathizing with the villain, he killed her father, uncle, best friend, and practically her whole family! and on top of that, she lost her memory....till the end. the freck!
I'm sorry, but they don't have the chemistry between both leads. I get that the drama tries to relive the 9th Princess's iconic character love and suffering. But it just doesn't feel that way. It's not easy to recreate the dynamics between Peng Xiaoran and Chen Xingxu. Idk, say whatever you like; for me, Ren Jialun doesn't suit Peng Xiaoran.
This actress, or her company, seem to choose similar characters and I have disliked her in everything I have watched…
I fast-forwarded or skipped every scene of hers and managed to reach episode 20+. The Story does get very interesting. I'm glad I decided to continue and didn't drop this drama.

You are right! Oh I really like Xiao Rou from the guardians (Gold gong). she caught my eyes since the opening song. Enjoyed her chemistry with ML and Yang yan as well.
Never have I ever disliked a FL this much before. It's really a struggle to watch this drama it's been a year, I kept holding on and continuing. She is annoying and boring. Still trying to finish it for the sake of Dylan Wang.
