The gaming aspect was spot on and really enjoyable. Some people seem to not like it because they were expecting more romance but I think this is one of the main reasons I loved this drama. I think that this drama is kind of a mix between The King’s Avatar, which focuses mainly on gaming, and Love o2o, which was mainly romance.
At first I really hated how the drama ended but when I read the Chinese title I felt that it was fitting. “Accompany You To The Top of The World” perfectly captures QY and XK’s story. They hit the lowest point of their lives and together they supported each others dreams, which was to stand on the championship stage together as a champion and commentator. Although I wouldn’t have been mad if they added a few scenes to really close up the story.
The part that I really hated was MY’s appearance. It felt very unnecessary and just created more misunderstandings and problems for the main couple. I feel like those scenes should’ve went to the side couples and some more game scenes. Speaking of side couples though, I LOVED SHU WEN AND SUN YE ZI. Yiyi and Yi Xuan were pretty cute as well. QX probably got more screen time trying to ruin QY’s career than she deserved but she got some character development at the end. Pei Xi was really funny, I enjoyed his character a lot. I remember watching his scenes and wondering if he was really going after QY or XK. Luo Tian was pretty unnecessary but I really liked how he just wanted QY to be happy and protected. Overall, I don’t think this was a bad drama but it definitely wasn’t the best. It has it’s faults but it’s quite unique and enjoyable.
