a fluffy typical rom com

that's exactly what cooking crush is. its not supposed to be heavy or dark, just light and funny and honestly i enjoyed it. ofc there were some parts that i couldn't bear to watch but i think its unfair to judge this to Not Me, given that theyre in different genres. For goodness sakes this was a fun watch, let OffGun be versatile and do sappy, cheesy romcoms too. Neo, Dome and Victor we all so entertaining and I applaud them for their performance. Aungpao especially surprised me as this was the first time ive seen him act and he did a great job. Overall i would ofc watch this again and all the negative reviews come from a place of bias

came for First, stayed for First and jimmysea moments

MMP is a classic example of top tier acting meets GMMTV mediocrity. Now don't get me wrong not everything needs to be deep and heavy, there's nothing wrong with fluff. What's wrong is when this subplot fluff takes up majority of the episodes while the main plot and conflict is sparsely scattered, only being actually dealt with in 4 out of 10 episodes.

The first episode sets us off strong, introducing the conflict from the start and instead of taking that and developing a solid plot, the next episodes focus on JimmySea's domesticated life. As a solution to keeping Thap safe while trying to solve the mystery, these fools conjure up the bright idea of removing him completely and shipping him off to the mountains with a fortune teller he fell in love w at first sight but has reservations abt bc he hates fortune tellers due to trauma (which also makes no sense as if this was so traumatizing, which i dont doubt, why is the mother still so obsessed with fortune tellers?? she literally drinks the words straight out of In's mouth which added to my frustration). This was especially irritating as everything from there (episode 3 and onwards) was predictable. Yes, I understand we dont ALWAYS need Last Twilight level production but at least place more emphasis on the main conflict instead of a mere 15 to 20 minutes mention every other episode.

Another issue I had with MMP is the side couple they tried forced down my throat. There was no chemistry and unnecessary, not every man needs a love interest. In the scenes where the other doctor was by himself it was fine, then everytime his love interest (the inspector) came into frame the quality rapidly declined with shabby lines and a hopeless relationship. I started fast forwarding everytime they were on screen together and still managed to keep up to date w the plot.

First was amazing. He really shone throughout MMP and I wanted to see MORE of his character, I wanted more development, I wanted to see him conspire and plot, nonetheless he did a spectacular job. Sea's emotions never fail to impress me, and his acting was breathtaking. In many of his scenes I forget that I was indulging in a half-baked GMM mediocre show.

The ending. Aside from the side couple they kept shoving up my ass it was it was enjoyable. I really like the dad and the scene where he asked In to accompany him tending to his plants which was his way of accepting In into the family. I wished the dad got more screentime, shoving his and Thap's subplot into the very last episode felt unjustly to me, and the dad's actor was spot on with his emotionally delivery, truly a waste. Despite that, I miss the era where there were consequences for your actions. Why was Karn begging for punishment and everyone just decided to forgive him just like that. I love First in this series and i wish he got more screentime. His emotions were all so raw (Sea as well), especially in the finale when he couldn't even look his friends in the eyes at first. His portrayal of regret and defeat invigorated me to stay till the end (THANK U FIRST KANAPHAN WE ALL SAY IN UNSION). The interview added to the end was chef's kiss and I forgot how much i struggled to finish this.

Overall, MMP had so much potential. They failed to balance fluff and conflict. JimmySea's fanbase are like loyal dogs who watch their shows through rose coloured glasses and throw all media literacy out the window., just like what they did for Vice Versa and its sad to see shows like this be over hyped and actual good shows with a solid plot and subsistence are placed on the back burner due to the pairing/ actors not being as popular. Dont watch with high expectations, and you would definietly enjoy more than me.

I wish I could watch Moonlight Chicken for the first time. From the acting to the ost to the production and plot were all just mesmerizing. Each couple has their own personal and internal struggles, yet they are all connected in some form or fashion. Moonlight Chicken graciously explores the theme of family and love, tackling issues such as falling out of love and first loves. It raises the daring question "Is it okay to pursue someone after a long term committed relationship". Gemini's performance here was breath taking and the scenes where he signed and there were no subtitles were just beautiful. Mix and Earth both did an amazing job. They made you feel and sympathize with both perspectives of the main conflict. Unlike a lot of mainstream Thai BL's, the miscommunication troupe was finally put to rest which is surprising given its GMMTV. The level of maturity in each character, especially in Heart and Liming, was refreshing to see.

In regards to Earth and Mix, again, their acting here was impeccable. From across the screen, it was easy to feel the raw tension as well as Wen's desperate desire for Jim in a way that is not riddled with toxicity and inappropriateness. Through this pair, the issue of familial homophobia is brough to light thanks to (not really) Jim's family. It is here we witness the birth of Jim's craving for a successful loving relationship, which happens despite all the negatively he faces from not only his family but the general public as well. The failing of this relationship serves as the catalyst for Jim locking himself away from opening his heart to another man again. This compounded with the burden of poverty and a failing business builds the narrative for Jim's character throughout the series. Wen on the other hand, may not be as complex as Jim but he still has his own internal struggles. His reluctance to take the initive and move out of the shared condo with his ex despite them being broken up for quite some time shows his unwillinesses to move on, which later down the series, is due to fear of not having a safety net to fall back on to.

Gemini and Fourth both did an amazing job that I refuse to speak on it, you must watch it for yourself. Their performance was better than some seniors who have been in this industry for twice as long as them.

Khaotung's performance, both acting and singing proves to show just how multitalented he is. His character is jam packed with nothing but good intentions and emotions.

what in the actual dog shit

Both myself and Liu Xuan Cheng deserve an apology. shit plot. shit voiceover. shit wardrobe. it was just shit. He better take this off his resume after Revenged Love. There's nothing constructive I can say other than do NOT waste your time watching this. The incest fantasy kink agenda reeks and they try to cover it up with 'non-blood brothers' which is no better than cousin. The urge to produce gay media that revolves around 'brothers' is disgusting and keep perpetuating the stigma that gay men are predatory towards younger men/ their juniors.

minus some point for dunk's acting

HeartKillers was really well done. Khaotung and Joong both expertly delivered on their assassin roles. The chemistry between First and Khao was just *chefs kiss* and they both never fail to make me cry. Concerning JoongDunk, it felt as though Joong performed for the both of them, his acting made up for Dunk's. While his character was enjoyable and served as comedic relief, it was evident that Dunk struggled with line delivery. His effort was still noticeable and though there were times where I had to pause and sit in silence for a while, I really admire and appreciate him and his character.
