Personally, I liked the ending. Bittersweet but it is for the best for the main lead. He said so himself, that's where he belongs. Hope I did not spoil too much.
Whenever people ask me for Chinese drama recommendations, I recommend Love O2O, Startling By Each Step (it's such a classic), Goong (another classic), Let's Go Watch the Meteor Shower (it is relatable because lots of people have seen other versions), and Whirlwind Girl (similar to Love O2O, lots of eye candy, not much drama, easy to watch) I loved your list and I have watched most of them and I think I personally would not recommend some of these dramas. I try not to recommend dramas that have crazy terminology or too many characters or too much drama so I do not recommend lots of historical dramas unless they are classics.
Yes! Finally! Thank you! This is far from the best production ever but it is relatable in a sense and is a really good drama and each character matures along the way.
The episodes at the end just got draggier and draggier. Right when I was like all of this will finally end, some other event pops up and further complicates things.
