In Episode 1, we witness Great's heart stopping and Tyme getting shot. Everything shown up until Episode 5 is actually Great reliving his past, attempting to change the things he regrets. This happens because even though his heart stopped, his brain remained active for four minutes. During those four minutes, he re-experienced his life, trying to make different choices—like not running away after hitting the woman or attempting to save Tonkla's brother. However, these changes only occurred in his mind. In reality, the woman is still dead, Nan is dead, and Dome (Tonkla's brother) is dead in the original timeline, which is the true course of events.
