Love the friendship/family bond.
It’s been a really fun journey with Twinkling Watermelon, and I enjoyed it a lot. I especially loved the father-son(???xD)/friendship bond between the two male leads - it’s easily one of the best parts of the drama. I also really liked Yoon Cheong Ah as a character and her connection with both male leads.I think Seol In Ah did a good job portraying Eun Yu, but I didn’t really like the character herself. She gets a lot of screen time, yet something feels missing about her story/character development/purpose. It feels like the writer didn’t quite do her character justice.
My favorite character is Ha Yi Chan - aside from his first-love stubbornness, which was a bit frustrating at times xD. Choi Hyun Wook did an absolutely amazing job bringing him to life; honestly, I can’t imagine anyone else pulling it off better. He makes Ha Yi Chan the soul of this drama for me.
Ryeoun also did a good job as Ha Eun Gyeol. He looks and feels completely different here compared to Weak Hero Class 2, so props to him for that range.
I loved almost everything about this drama except for the ending. It felt like it needed more episodes and a different direction. That said, it’s still a great drama despite some small holes here and there.

One of the best kdrama. Please watch!
One of my all-time favorite dramas, right alongside Lovely Runner. The story and production are simply too good - there’s honestly nothing more to say. I cried so much while watching this, but I don’t regret it one bit. It hit my kokoro in a way I can’t even properly describe. Highly highly recommend! Was this review helpful to you?
THE BEST DRAMA IN MY HEART!!!!! 1000000/10
Lovely Runner has become one of my all-time favorite drama - a rare 10/10 for me! I almost never write reviews (at the time of making this review), but this drama is just that incredible. This is the only drama that I ever give all 10 for all aspects. The acting was phenomenal, with both the female and male leads delivering absolutely outstanding performances. The story had everything: it was funny, heartwarming, touching, heart-pulling, thrilling, and beautifully balanced a mix of rom-com, melodrama, crime, and fantasy. The soundtrack was so good as well; every song was a masterpiece that perfectly heightened the emotions of each scene, making me feel every moment deeeeeply :( And the best part? The ending was wrapped up flawlessly - satisfying and complete, without any of those rushed or empty feelings that many dramas leave behind.
Lovely Runner is a truly exceptional and well-crafted drama that I can’t recommend enough!

Funny first half, very comic-coded so it's a bit over the top.
The first half was funny and I enjoyed it. However, the second half became a bit boring? The fight scenes are extremely over the top and very comic-style, I can't really take it seriously xD A lot of things feel forced and don’t really make sense, at some point I found myself watching just to finish it for Minhyun. That said, the soundtrack absolutely slaps - 10/10 for the OST. I also enjoyed Minhyun’s portrayal of his character; such a cute nerd xD I really want to see him get into college, season 2 please make his dream come true! Besides Ga Min, I think Choi Hee Won is my favorite of this show. She is so odd, yet so cute... cutely odd? xD Her face reminds me of NMIXX Haewon, and their names also sound somewhat similar!

Such a bad ending, makes you feel so empty.
The costumes, makeup, and CGI in this drama are absolutely stunning. The cast is full of eye candy, and each couple has their own unique charm. However, I struggled with the main couple’s dynamic. The female lead comes across as too cold toward the male lead, making their relationship feel frustratingly one-sided. This type of pairing just isn’t for me. Despite that, I pushed through to the end because I’m a fan of Yang Mi. Unfortunately, the ending left me deeply disappointed - it felt rushed and unsatisfying, making me regret the time I invested in this drama. Was this review helpful to you?

Gorgeous cast, beautiful costume, beautiful makeup/hairstyles but way too many deaths.
I love the cast, one of the rare Chinese dramas where I like all the main cast (Bai Lu, Ao Rui Peng, Dai Luwa and Chang Hua Shen). The costumes and makeup in MM is insanely beautiful, I really want to know the name of the person in charge of it. The story is interesting but also feels forced in many aspects. It also turns repetitive, everyone in this drama is so eager to die, the death counts are crazy, almost everyone died, even Fan Yue died twice, nobody has a good ending except for FY & BS. But it doesn't truly feel like a happy ending when everyone else died imo :(Love the cast, love the music, LOOOOOVE THE COSTUMES & MAKEUP but I don't think I would ever watch a drama written by Xing Ling again xD

The ending disappoints, but the acting and music carry the drama.
[SPOILERS IN THE 1ST PARAGRAPH. Please skip it if you want to avoid them]I didn’t like the ending. It felt rushed, and the fact that nothing happens to her psychopath husband is frustrating, making Jae-oh’s sacrifice feel wasted rather than meaningful. Junseo’s death also feels strange and poorly handled!
But Dear X still works for me largely because of Kim Yoo Jung’s performance. Her acting is absolutely insane and, in my opinion, hard-carries the entire drama. I’ve watched her since we were both kids, and while her acting has always been good, this role truly gives her the space to show her full potential.
The music deserves special praise too, it’s beautifully chosen and greatly amplifies the overall mood. Every track fits Dear X’s vibe perfectly. Give them a listen: Devil’s Angel by Minnie, Insane (Soft Ver.) by Elaine Kim, Ego by Cocona, and Run & Run by Lim Kim.
