Same, I totally relate. Vincenzo was way out of my comfort zone but I was so glad I gave it a try cause it turned out to be one of my favorite Kdramas of all time! :) The "life" genre is either a you love it or you hate it moment I think, there's no in-between Lol. I think I ended up enjoying this one because I've been stressed out at work and I found this drama relaxing so it was a de-stressor for me in a way. I had to go back and check but the romance really picks up at ep 33 if you want to start watching it from there to finish it off! Some very cute moments during those last couple of Eps. But yeah "A dream of splendor" wasn't bad, I'm sure you've seen your fair share so the only other two Cdramas I can think of that weren't as mainstream popular but I found romantic are "A Girl like Me", and "Qing Luo" if you haven't seen those. Ignore me if you have Lol!

Ignoring the whole situation going on in the replies lol just wanted to respond to your main comment. I'll just say that I usually only watch dramas with romance (with exception to Vincenzo, Reborn Rich, Inspector Koo, etc, cause those had no romance at all really), I adored the lowkey romance in this. No, it's not in your face so much where the main leads are the main attraction and the "romantic" scenes are in your face like you'd expect in a romance drama but the "Life" genre in this drama takes precendence. Meaning that the main focus isn't necessarily the romance but the lives of the characters and how all they all came together as friends/family/lovers. What I loved about the romance here is that it was realistic, all of the couples fell in love slowly after going through many turbulences. The romance isn't in your face but boy was it worth the wait when all of the couples started going after each other Lol. And that's not to say there was no romance at the beginning, there's a lot of cute romantic moments sprinkled about but you have to take note of their gestures and looks, again, not in your face, just subtle enough to make it all worthwhile in the end :) Everyone has their own tastes though so although I myself found this drama realistically romantic and wholesome, you may be looking for something more heavy on the romance spectrum and that's ok. Just wanted to let you know the romance toward the end is well worth the slow burn! If you're looking for a Cdrama with "more in your face" romance vibes, I'd recommend "A Dream of Splendor", "Love between fairy & devil". and "Love like the Galaxy", if you haven't watched those yet :)

It happens in Ep 32. And it was the first scene in this drama that made me cry LOL. I found myself actually hoping they wouldn't divorce cause I didn't want the FL and her to separate lol, cause they were literally the cutest besties. So it was a sad moment when they said goodbye to each other, but also wholesome.

I honestly put shows with that concept on my blacklist but I went into this drama not knowing that happened & THANK GOODNESS I did cause I would've missed out. Not to spoil too much but the ML & FL & the one the ML had to marry were all completely against the idea. It became more of a business transaction and the third party ended up being a huge blessing and support for our main leads. She & the FL became besties/sisters :) and the marriage doesn't last long~ Don't let that prevent you from watching this amazing drama!

I don't really have all the words to describe how much I loved this drama. Once in a while, I come across a drama that becomes "That drama" that gets me through my days at work, my stress and my anxiety, throughout the week. Two of those other Chinese dramas were Story of Ming Lan & more recently, Love Like The Galaxy. Now, this one has made it to my top 5 favorite Chinese dramas of all time. It was just so DIFFERENT. The female empowerment, the caring/loving male leads who owned up to their mistakes & the lack of "evil" rivalry between the brothers & the women (except for you know who - but even they redeemed themselves in the end). Some moments were downright hilarious, some sad, and some incredibly wholesome. I will miss this drama so much, I was dragging out the last EP cause I didn't want to finish it. I'll miss all of the princes & their shenanigans (especially Prince Qi & Prince An, they were a riot LOL). I'll miss all the girls and their sisterhood, their bond was so strong and empowering! The scenes in the last EP during the Selection & the moon gazing will live in my head rent-free cause they were absolutely beautiful. Do yourself a favor and watch this drama if you're on the fence about it! It's a must-watch <3

Really wanted to like it cause I was looking forward to seeing Karam & Leo in a BL but it was really disappointing. Best way to describe it is just messy. I lost interest at about Ep 3 and then just skipped through the rest..

I had to run here after watching the latest EP. It took MY HEART. Ugh, it was so so cute, honestly just the innocent light fluff I've been needing lately. And made all the better by the great acting (Fourth's mainly, he's really been impressing me), and all the comedic moments. Honestly had no expectations for this series but every EP so far has had me smiling like an idiot <3

Lol just some others that I had high expectations for but ended up not liking so much, like Enchante, Cutie Pie, Star & Sky etc. It's better to just have no expectations and be pleasantly surprised, than be disappointed lol.

Yeah but it looks like it's cringy on purpose so it fits the vibe of the drama. Unlike some others that try to be serious but ends up cringe Lol.

What a good 1st EP! I've learned recently to not expect much from Thai BL dramas cause none of them have really been able to hold my attention. The last one was "Not Me" with OffGun so it's been a little bit lol. I went into this one with no expectations but was pleasantly surprised! No cringy acting, no over-the-top sound effects, and not a boring moment yet. Hopefully, it keeps this momentum! Nice to be excited about a Thai BL again after so long lol.

A gem. It's always the dramas that I'm on the fence about at the beginning that end up becoming my favorite LOL. Not a boring moment in this drama!

Hope it's good! Korean BLs are either a hit or miss depending on their budget lol. The highest quality one so far IMO has been Semantic Error, so we'll see how this one turns out~

Same though! I was a big fan of DGNA and found Karam adorable back then, can't believe he's going to be in a BL now! Super excited to see him again!

SO IRONIC. I literally came across some old favorited clips of Karam of mine from when I was a fan of "The Boss" and I thought to myself...he'd do well in a BL & here we are LOL. And with Leo of all people?? I'm excited for this one!

He's a clout chaser. I didn't like him from EP 1 but people were fighting me about it LOL. He was just there to waste people's time.

Yup, the only real ones in this show! Changyu baby was lowkey treated like cannon fodder and he deserved way better. Eunchan too, he seems so sweet, I really hope he meets someone that gives him the same energy he's willing to put in. And I love JH too, even though Changmin blowing him off now after the show could be seen from miles away. JH always liked Changmin more than Changmin liked him and it was painfully obvious. So hopefully he too, learns to not like people just for their looks and finds someone that respects him!

Ok yeah, I guess I should've foreseen the comments below lol. That scene was problematic, so I get it. I guess I'm used to such scenes happening in plenty of Thai BL dramas so I've become desensitized to the extent where I'll judge other parts of the show and not base my judgment completely on one scene (although yes, problematic so the critique IS warranted) but I'm just saying it wasn't enough for ME to decide to drop this. AND If you've known about MAME's works previously (Love by Chance & Tharntype), you should've entered into this apprehensive and knowing what to expect. Knowing that fact, those that would be triggered by scenes like this should've refrained from watching from the get-go. A problematic and uncomfortable scene but not unsurprising considering this author's previous works. That aside, the cinematography and the coloring of the scenes were beautiful in Ep 1. That scene where Rain was in the car and Phayu was leaning on the window was filmed beautifully. And the actors are doing a pretty good job as well, by Thai BL drama standards anyway Lol.

I felt for Changyu, that must've been so embarrassing!! I could never Lol. He's my fave so far though, seems really genuine and cute. He looks like I.N from stray kids to me Lol. But I feel for him cause he likes Changmin but I have a feeling Changmin likes Junghyun. Crazy how almost all of them like Changmin the most! It'll be interesting to see how the interests change once they learn more about each other~
