An homage to old-school exploitation thrillers that creates a very absorbing expirience despite the absence of endearing characters, packed with high talented actors. The first two hours of Love Exposure used a kind of blend of music and imigery; The World of Kanako is similar in that regard in terms of the rythm of the storytelling. The story is constantly pushed forward in a minute-by-minute basis. So it is very good if you can handle mean-spirited violence.
Rika is an amazing character, I like her dearly. She is a real person with flaws, quirks, a strong mind, a free spirit, A BIG HEART and creativity. Her postcards are lovely. But I was astonished how laid back she handled the situation between Satomi and Kenichi. Well everyone treated it as if it were no big deal, but it still tasted bitter that not even Rika asked him about his actions that night. Other than that, it's a good drama. When it ended, I wished the character Rika truly the best for the future. Ishibashi Shizuka is a wonderful, talented actress and I'm looking forward to see more of her ♥
After seeing this video: https://youtu.be/VbFnvTiHLw8 I watched Blue Gate Crossing and fell in love with the film. It kicked me right back in my (far away) teenage years.
Great article! I could have needed something like this at this time last year. ^^ I guess the first Korean Variety Show I saw were clips from Return of the Superman on Youtube, which were reccommended to me because of the soccer player Park Joo Ho. But the first whole episode of a Korean Variety Show I watched was Running Man because of The Sound Of Your Heart. It was great watching the first 60 episodes of RM and then going back and getting all those insiders and refernces in TSOYH :D I have seen the first 237 episodes of RM and some episodes from the future with actors I like and keep doing so. Many dramas and movies I've only seen because the cast were guest there. I also watch Return Of The Superman from epsiode 239 onwards, starting with Park Joo Ho's children and it was of course a bless for me that when they left the show, Gary from RM started to appear, I don't write replace, since Joo Ho and Anna plan to come back on the show with the new baby in the future. Thank You for writing the article!
