100000 times more worth your time than those cheesy dramas. I mean, not comparable because of the genres and all, but you need to watch this one. There are some slow parts but overall it is a fun one and has exciting moments near the end too. Little Mari is too cute :)
First 10 or so episodes were good, made me think of giving it a 9.5 stars rating. However, after watching up to ep 18, I can't and have to give it a 7 (could have been a 7.5, but gave a 7 instead): - It's ridiculous to omit the romance between ML and FL in this context/setup. They have such good interactions (up to ep 11. After that, FL just "kinda" disappears. A minus point at that too..) - Too many schemes among the various sides (typical weak writing seen in K-drama). Like, stop it, Korean writers. Go take a class from actually award-winning films or something. You don't need that many unnecessary schemes / plotting against each other like that. All over the place.
This series is total, absolute sh*t. Please don't waste your time by watching it. Reason: the ML is supposedly a "smart" guy (high score and all) but the way he works doesn't prove the "smart" part: - As others have mentioned, he doesn't have a plan B for when he loses his phone. None. Zip, zilch, nada. Yeah, for such a life-and-death business and matter to him, his best option is to act like a headless chicken when it happens. (And no, the phone tracking bit is not the thing that I'm implicating. That's NOT a backup plan; it's just a monitoring mechanism. Hardly help.) - In ep 2, he left the house with his huge mountain of money still inside - with somebody else also inside the house. Yeah, practically speaking, nothing bad will ever happen to the money (which his whole life depends on), right? We can argue that the situation is pressing, and he needs to leave asap. But for a dude claiming to provide "security", that's no security for your treasure, my dude. So much for a "smart" guy. Also, the story just doesn't progress at all. No development. I stop at ep 7 because the dude is still the same old pimp he was in ep 1, no change. I like anti-heroes too, but the story needs to be interesting. The female lead does not help. No offense, but she is not that pretty. And boring too. My advice: - Just watch Weak Hero Class 1 for lead with brain and determination. - Watch Boyhood if you want some laugh. The lead also has great determination (towards the end) too. - I haven't watched that many series (compared to some of you guys) so I myself are also searching for some good ones like WHC1. If you can't find more, maybe go (re)watch Death Note or something :))
A pity that we can't find more movies like this.
