okay but Ahn Jaeyong though! The man managed to make me feel pure disgust and repulsed by his every actions, idk…
the greasy sparse hair wig and the sweat marks made me almost smell him through the screen sometimes omg. i thought it was gonna be hard for him to fit the otaku incel vibe bc he's really handsome but they did a great job at dirtying up his image, both literally and figuratively
From what I understood it was never a game, it was just a way to teach Myungha how to love life again. Myungha was dead, he killed himself at 29 and it's insinuated that his "sunbae" was kind of like a god who gave him another chance at living life because he saw Myungha's hesitation when he committed suicide. In the last episode, Myungha's sunbae says that the game's goal (to make Yeowoon happy) was in reality a way to teach Myungha how to love himself and give him his will to live back. So when Myungha told his sunbae that he wanted to live, his sunbae put him back into the real world as his 19yo self.
The actors talked about it in the behind-the-scenes but this is mainly Siwon's story/point of view! If you read…
I was mainly replying to "especially Da Un, even at the end we still didn't know much about him if not that his parents are always at work", because a lot of what is known about him is in the subtext. But oh well, from what I've seen the pacing isn't for everyone
If you're debating on watching, please do !!! But really pay attention to details, to how each actor (even the secondary characters) look at each other... A lot of the story is in the details and it won't make as much sense if you don't pay attention. The rewatch value is really high on this show because of how detailed it is, so it seems a few people were left bored and confused because they were most likely waiting for a really clear story when a lot of it is happening in subtext, especially in the first 3-4 episodes.
Okay this was nice, but also kinda weird?I couldn't really empathise with the characters, especially Da Un, even…
The actors talked about it in the behind-the-scenes but this is mainly Siwon's story/point of view! If you read the manhwa they emphasize more on it but Dawoon is supposed to be the handsome, smart, perfect guy with a rich family and life destined to success. You can sense that in the drama but it's way more subtle. Siwon at first feels jealous, outshined, and uneasy around Dawoon and misinterprets what he says/does as personal attacks (thinking Dawoon didn't greet him on purpose, that he's always mocking him when he smiles...). But as the show progresses Siwon realizes Dawoon is sincere.
Agree!! I don't think Hira particularly "regressed", to me it's Kiyoi "progressing" that Hira further feels he's…
Right!! I think Hira will definitely come around though. Like he did in season 1 when Kiyoi told him he just wanted to be with the person he loves and Hira got over himself and accepted to date him. Hira just needs things to be very explicitly spelt out 🥹

Yes to all of this!! I forgot about the bicycle thing!! I think Hira deserves more credit than he's given. Kiyoi had Koyama tell him about Hira's struggles, while Hira doesn't have anyone to inform him on how Kiyoi is doing outside of their bubble. Even though Kiyoi seems to slightly understand Hira's insecurities and tries to help (pushing him to sign up to the contest and then cheering him on by saying failing is part of the process), I don't think he realized until their fight how far those insecurities went.
To me this is more a rough patch than Hira regressing. It seems like Hira failing to get into the contest and his aunt calling Hira Kioyi's friend and fan just reinforced his insecurities. I think Kiyoi confessinf his feelings will help because Hira always misunderstands and assumes the worst. Everytime Kiyoi shows any emotion (happiness, embarrassment, shyness, jealousy, sadness...) Hira just assumes it's anger. In my opinion this is a necessary argument that they're having. They both needed that reality check
I love that this season shows Kiyoi's point of view, it makes the first season even more interesting. It's clear that Hira kinda misinterprets Kiyoi's intentions (like mistaking Kiyoi's jealousy as anger, or thinking he tried to wake him up when he was just stroking his hair). I wanna rewatch Season 1 all over again to see if there aren't more scenes with hidden meaning that I hadn't caught
