This show primarily focuses on interpersonal relationships of newly graduated high school students stranded on an island after a tsunami hits the island where their school is located. It has a supernatural/survival element to it. It also has well rounded, diverse characters and there’s lgbt+ representation. It’s awesome and I hope to see a second season soon.
I hope to see more Japanese shows that has this quality production style/level. However, you can always tell when the writers/directors/decision makers are male. If they were already changing things about the original material, they might as well have gone fully into making more well rounded female characters too. Regardless, I hope to see a second season and for Japanese media to potentially start upping the quality they push out (as far as live action goes).
