I don't think that's really the point of this series. I mean, in context, it is a Filipino series, and the Philippines…
Oh, i do understand your point, you're saying that the creators of dramas such as this one are trying to instill religious propaganda into their viewers.
That may be true for some other shows, but in context, as i explained, this IS a filipino show and christianity plays a very important role to the Philippines and to its people. Majority of Filipinos, and Filipino viewers of this show are catholic or christian, so basically this series is something that hits close to home for many Filipinos. I don't necessarily see any 'agenda' being pushed in this drama. I believe this drama is just telling people to be more open. I don't see how its controlling, or how its telling people to convert directly. I just see it trying to paint the picture that homosexuality is normal, love is love and it can happen to ANYONE.
I also feel the need to defend religion, since I myself am a Catholic , true, some practices of religion can be quite conservative, but it really depends on the person and how they view things in the world, or how they can change to adapt. To say that religion DOES NOT ACCEPT homosexuality at all, is a very irrational conclusion. I'm not totally religious myself, but if there's one thing i stand by in my own religion, is to value Love, which indirectly relates to homsexuality.
And with your example of Religious parents not wanting their children to be gay, that may be true for some, or even most, but not all. You can't just jump to conclusions like that, because even so, usually, they end up accepting their children, and people are different from one another.
That's why dramas like these are made to open up people's perspectives on different societal issues. It's not propaganda, it's just giving people a different perspective. At least, in my understanding of propaganda, it's when they try to tell you that "this is good" and "this is bad", but I have not seen anything like that in this story.
Having religious themes in a drama or movie, does not immediately make it propaganda, nor is it "deep mind programming".
So please don't think that everything that has to do with religion immediately rejects homosexuality or has a secret agenda nor is watching dramas like this "cooperating" with those agendas.
But if I really cannot persuade you to think like that, then that's alright, you have your own views, and I have mine. :)
Although I do like the narrative of the story of this series, the first episode wasn't necessarily good. The overall production seems more like a school project instead of an actual series. The two main characters' acting fall very flat, audio is not the best, and some camera angles aren't so flattering. Cinematography isn't all that great, the only thing that saves it is the color grading.
The one thing that I like though, is most definitely the ost. The songs are really good.
Since this is one of the first few Filipino BLs, and also since it is still the first episode, I'm going to follow this series. Hopefully (like seriously) it improves along the way, especially the acting, because the story line is quite interesting.
i love the poster and i really love the trailer...but i want to point at something really important that repeat…
I don't think that's really the point of this series. I mean, in context, it is a Filipino series, and the Philippines has a vast majority of christians, and many are religious. And surprisingly, the lgbt community here in the Philippines is big. Although, of course there's still a lof of discrimination against the lgbt community, from my personal experience, most religious Christian filipinos tolerate the lgbt community, most of them dont necessarily approve of it, but at the same time, they don't really hate on them, I go to a catholic jesuit school, and a lot of my batchmates are part of the lgbt community, even a few of my friends, and what's surprising is that theyre the ones who are actually religious. Christianity/religion plays a very big role in the culture of the Philippines, and I think what this series is trying to push is that religion is literally for everyone, and it doesn't give you a right to discriminate people. It is afterall, aimed at the Filipino audience. And to say that religion doesn't accept gays at all, is kind of a far fetched idea. Everyone has different interpretations of religion, and what this series is trying to push is for Christians to be open to the fact that homosexuality is normal, because really, it is.
Series completed. Thank you to the actors, the director and the production crew for the hard work that you have…
i agree, i don't think it's necessary for 2gether to get a season 2, especially since the series overall seemed really light, it would kind of be off putting if they add a season 2 and suddenly make it all serious like Dark blue kiss, because I mean, pete and kao were already angsty even before so it fit the theme. And the ending of 2gether seemed to wrap it all up hahaha they'd definitely fit in an Our Skyy episode
I had such high hopes for this drama and I genuinely thought it was going to be nice, especially since bright and win seemed perfect for their roles, I thought they really balanced each other out and had such good chemistry. The first few episodes were strong, but once they actually got together everything just started to fall. Which is weird because that's supposed to be where the story takes off?? Why did it seem like they were more of a couple when they were fake dating rather when they were together. Also, the way they tried to add drama near the end of it was really shallow and unnecessary. This really sucks because the story itself had so much potential, and Bright and Win are lovely actors. Don't get me wrong though, I did enjoy the first half of it, and if you don't really want a serious BL drama, you could watch this. Just, the last few episodes were disappointing. But I still love bright and win so much ughhh, why'd they do them dirty like this
I felt just like you while watching it, and IMHO it only gets worse. I managed to watch 'till the end but if given…
damn, I think I'll drop this, maybe if I have nothing else to watch I'd continue. I just don't get, personally, how this got a lot of good reviews, because so far, I really can't seem to empathize with xufeng and his relationship with Jinmi, it's really frustrating. Everyone keeps saying it's good, but I don't see it??
Ive been on and off this drama for at least a month now, and I'm still at episode 32. I'm trying to continue watching it, but I just can't seem to thoroughly like the main couple. I feel like the way their love story began was shallow, somehow people don't fall in love that easily. Another thing is Runyu, the second lead. For some reason, the drama makes you empathize with him the most. He's the only character who has such a complex personality and background so far in the story. It's also pretty obvious to understand how he's going to turn out bad. And I get it, he becomes bad, but again, his background and complexity makes you empathize with him more than the main lead. It would have also been better if the beginning of Xufeng and Jinmi's love story was deeper than it was initially in the first few episodes. I don't know, because to me, the way Xufeng fell in love with jinmi was way more shallow than how Runyu did. There wasn't a deep connection that sparked "Love" between Jinmi and Xufeng, as compared to how Runyu came to like Jinmi because "she saw him for who he was". But I really can't speak for the whole drama since I haven't finished it, but i might put this on hold because it's frustrating for me. I just really don't find the main couple to be as romantic as they should, they didn't start off strong.
