Everyone can call You Maniac boring or say that it has an ordinary storyline, but this is just my personal opinion:…
I agree. Besides, Est didn't double down on the sass just to be called boring.
I don't think they needed to show scenes of his father cheating though. Based on Dean's Mom's and sisters words about the old Dean, the pictures of Dean with his father, and Dean not really wanting to talk to his father , you could tell something big went down in Dean's world involving his father.
Having the side chick show up was an excellent story telling beat because as soon as Dean got those wild eyes at seeing her, I knew exactly what dear old dad had done.
I do understand your example of this being a valid criticism though.
This show isn't perfect but it's really good. I've enjoyed Williamest in this show, and it will definitely be a rewatch.
okk so I agree that the show is actually really good in terms of writing. The character development is great,…
From the pilot I feel we were promised red flags and that's what we got. Dean and Moth are some messy red flags.
Personally, I wanted nobody to end up together in OF(although I like the cps) they were honestly completely gross to eachother. I'm glad that isn't what this is. Dean and Moth started off as people who no one with any sense would date, but are growing and becoming better people for eachother(no one else should still date them, they dramatic as all get out, but they fit eachother). I expected red flags, not irredeemable jerks.
If that level of toxic was what you were expecting, I can understand your disconnect. But for me I think the pilot delivered. I actually think the show is better than what the pilot presented.
What I liked in this episode:1, Est's acting. 2, William's ost3, Those fuckass product placements. When the coffee…
Best episode of the series. The acting was chef's kiss. Williamest did a great job once again.
When Dean went still completely still for a moment after hearing his father had passed...I took a breath.
Moth being at a lost at how to help Dean, but ernestly wanting to was conveyed so well. Even him berating himself later over what he viewed as inaction was so good.
Dean wanting Moth to stay but still pushing him away was done so well. You could see the longing yet resolve in his eyes.
Dean's anger at the side chick was visceral.
And last but not least, Dean finally breaking down but Moth being a soft place for him to fall brought all the tears. That was genuinely heartbreaking.
Hi there 👋! My take: I feel like the best parts of the serries was in the pilot. It was a solid concept but…
I honestly don't know what some of you are watching. I've haven't been able to predict how any episode will go.
The acting in this show is excellent. The story and the way the story is being told is really good. There is non linear story telling that keeps you on your toes and when you get the fill in it's super interesting. There is an unreliable narrator at times which also adds unpredictability. Also, so much of what they say requires inferencing and nuance. They don't spoon feed you, but instead they trust your comprehension skills, and give you what you need to still eat it up.
I'm loving the show, and I know many others are also. It's super obvious that there is a hate campaign going on(3.6 to 3.3 in a matter of days is wild) but if that people's dopamine, that's too bad.
This show was presented as red flag show(not criminal flags)and they delivered. Those boys are so back and forth and so dramatic. But their characters have so much depth.
Only issue I have from the pilot to the actual show is the 90s Saved By the Bell credits instead of the red color grading from the pilot. People have explained why they may have changed it, but I really liked the pilot's title card.
yooo, why nobody told me I was gonna bawl my eyes out 😭😭 I was LIED TO when I watched the trailer, why are…
They delivered on the red flags, never was supposed to be toxic yaoi but I get you.
Today's episode was excellent. I was so invested. From Dean just going still after first hearing the news, to seeing him trying to pretend to be okay and pushing Moth away, to completely breaking down was so well written and acted.
I want Williamest to never cry but at the same time yo cry all the time. A1 acting from those two.
The only reason this series is getting a 8.3 rating is cause it's William Est. If they had used any other couple…
The only reason this series' rating dropped so drastically in a matter of days is because it's Williamest. I finally created an account because I'm actually shocked by this calculated hate campaign.
The ratings dropped from an 8.6 to a 8.3 in 2 days and after the best episodes of the series aired. That's ridiculous and everyone involved in that drop knows that's true.
The show is so good. Watching these two messy people who had their walls up, learning to trust eachother and depend on eachother has been such a fun ride.
Episode 9 was well written, directed and the acting was immaculate. Understanding what has been shaping Dean's life and how he deals with relationships was so well done.
This show respects a viewer's intelligence and has great character development and great storytelling.
If you don't rock with that, cool do you. However,I hope y'all get the hate out your hearts and go hype up something you do like instead
Edited to add:Even the behind the scenes rating dropped. Y'all need to stop.

I hope people can focus more on things they like instead of being so petty and hateful.
