i thought the first four or five episodes were ok. Then it become so predictable and i realised its another gmmtv…
I'm watching this show because I really like it and completely disagree with posters who say this show is boring or have no depth. All people post is about how they want a mature show abd when they actually get one they trash it.
I have also really only commented on this show because I was completely schocked by the calculated hate campaign against this show on here.
Ma'am or sir, I've probably forgotten more shows than you ever watched. I've seen all those shows. Of the ones you've mentioned, some are excellent one was definitely over hyped imo and started out good but got boring and literally went nowhere until the last episode, and then just barely. That being said, I did not go to that mdl create an account and start trashing it like so many did for You maniac. Also it seems you find black flags interesting and red flags not so much.

Predictable is not what any episode of this show is. I had no clue how any episode was going to end. I loved the up and down and back and forth in every episode. I was never sure if they were going to end with cuddle time or emotionally constipated time. Definitely lived up to the you maniac title.
Is anyone BORED watching this ?? I struggled to finish episode 4. And here i am playing with my phone for episode…
This is definitely not a scroll on your phone while you watch show. You have to pay attention because there are callbacks and connections that they don't spoon feed you. For instance, you really want to pay attention to Dean's reactions in epi 4 because there are some eye opening revelations that happen in epi 9 that make you appreciate both episodes even more. Also, episode 4 was the "Surprise me." episode so definitely not boring.
I'm really liking the show and have been waiting for it to drop each week. It'll definitely be a rewatch for me.
I agree that episode 9 was peak. For me the problem is that it happened in the penultimate episode, so there's…
I actually feel that they've been together the whole series. I feel the show has been more about them realizing this then them finally getting together.
This rating is indicative of the ship not the show. This could have been really good. But the ML are unlikable,…
I do agree that they should have had Moth coming to the realization on his own that Dean was just "breaking up" with him out of grief. The Dr. Pun talk wasn't needed there.
I think Moth has been colder when he's lashed out but I feel that the bring all my exes on our date was a screwup of such epic proportions that they're pretty even in my book.
I'm really enjoying the show and I hope they end it well. No time jump or long distance relationship ending please and thank you.
In real life I can't stand people that act like Dean and Moth, I despise them so much. I know they're fictional…
Yes, that's why they're red flags. However they have steadily and realistically grown throughout the series. They're still not by any means perfect but they're kinda perfect for eachother. They probably wouldn't work with anyone else but they work together.
Is this series really that bad? I mean why one account is posting 100 comments to praise this series?
It's not bad at all. It's actually pretty good which is why some people have decided to bomb the ratings(8.6 to 8.3 in less than 2 days. Come on y'all be a little more subtle).
It's a show with red flag charcters who make a lot of mistakes but also have depth and show growth. The show doesn't spoon feed you everything but expects you to use your brain and understand nuance and how to infer.
There is some non linear storytelling and an unreliable narrator at times, so you may have to wait until the end of an episode or the next one to get more context. Personally I enjoyed that about the show.
The writing is good, the storyline is much deeper than it seems at first, they have good sets and the acting is excellent. It's worth checking out.
Euiiii, what's with the comment section here? I thought I've opened twitter instead of MDL. 🙄
A faction of people have decided to be super weird and since they can't really effect metrics anywhere else, they've decided that mdl is where they'll pray on You Maniac, Williamest or gmmtvs downfall.
This series is only doing well because it's WilliamEst. If it was any other couple it would have bombed hard...
The show isn't perfect but it's doing well for many reasons. Thank you for recognizing that one of those reasons is Williamest's great chemistry and acting.
gmmtv should stop relying on fixed pairs & pay more attention to the script. what the hell is this train wreck…
Script is good, storyline has depth and the acting is great. I enjoy it. Many other people enjoy it. The show is doing well all over including Thailand. It's ridiculous that some super weird people decided to hate bomb the mdl ratings( 8.6 to 8.3 in less than 2 days) for whatever reason. It's also super weird some of you are trying to convince yourself that it's not a good show or not doing well.
I'm a new account that gave it an overall 10( could change if they do something like a time jump). I genuinely like the series. I wonder how many new accounts gave it a 1...
It's sad that too many people get their dopamine from hating on something rather than supporting something they like.
... this show is so badly written. When your best friend's dad passes away and you know that your best friend…
This is your only criticism I somewhat agree with. If Barcode wasn't available when they filmed the funeral they should have come up with a better reason for him to not be there. They should have at least shown him talking on the phone to Dean. This part could have been written better but overall the show is very well written.
I know there is always a breakup in the penultimate episode. But the reason is so lame. PLEASE.
They didn't even break up. They literally circumvented the trope and they were clearly "together"(as together as those two admit to being)at the end of the show.
I fucking hate the "wise woman" trope. Like the sister also didn't know what has happened and then suddently…
Clearly the sister knew about the cheating. She even said he didn't have to forgive the dad but he shouldn't let that ruin his life and potential relationships. That was a big sister being a big sister not a "mysteriously wise woman trope."
ok, i dropped the series at ep 9. Horrible writing, inconsistent characterisations, William's poor acting, tired…
Moth having to get out of his own way to be there for Dean. Dean trying to act like he was fine and turning on that Dean charm. Both having walls they had to let down to comfort and be comforted.
What was inconsistent about how they were portrayed?
William is a very good actor. That, small adjust he did when hearing his dad had surgery. You saw he was worried but immediately he shuttered that and tried to act almost nonchalant when he asked about the surgery only to completely freeze when he heard his dad had died.
His anger and disgust when he saw the mistresses was palpable.
The way he played the "breakup", he was both flippant but also you could see he really wanted Moth to stay.
The breakdown was heartbreaking and very well acted.
This and last weeks episodes were the best for me. A few episode were more fun but these last two are really giving a payoff.
wtf moth. Dean's dad just died and Moth is making it about himself, worrying about their relationship?! And then…
Moth made it about himself at first because that's one of his red flag tendencies he's now finally working on. With a little help from Pun he got over himself and was there for Dean.
Dean was busy playing cards, still trying to be the life of the party trying to cover up his pain. Him trying to flirt and have Moth sit on his lap was another attempt at pretending he was ok. This was Dean trying to "Dean". It was meant to feel a bit ackward (It was still cute).
Very consistent characterization and good writing.
Everyone can call You Maniac boring or say that it has an ordinary storyline, but this is just my personal opinion:…
I agree. Besides, Est didn't double down on the sass just to be called boring.
I don't think they needed to show scenes of his father cheating though. Based on Dean's Mom's and sisters words about the old Dean, the pictures of Dean with his father, and Dean not really wanting to talk to his father , you could tell something big went down in Dean's world involving his father.
Having the side chick show up was an excellent story telling beat because as soon as Dean got those wild eyes at seeing her, I knew exactly what dear old dad had done.
I do understand your example of this being a valid criticism though.
This show isn't perfect but it's really good. I've enjoyed Williamest in this show, and it will definitely be a rewatch.
