It's the same as saying "Aisha was old enough." when she wasn't. That's a fact. Religious people often deny uncomfortable parts of their own religion because not everything in a religion aligns with modern morality or even with their own values. It's natural to lie and be defensive over it. But again, it's just delusion.
Every time there's a funeral in my family, i always hear verses about homosexuals, my country is very... Religious, still, unfortunately. I treat religious queer people the same, as i treat religious women. They are victims of religion, yes, but at the same time, they're reinforcing these beliefs in the media and in other young people. And because of people like this, the religious guilt won't ever end. You can end religious guilt only if you end religion. If not, then well, queer people will never be free. Women also.

I grew up in a catholic country and in a catholic household, and hell no, lmfao. Religion hates us, so i think it's quite delusional to think it's a good message. "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination" and yet our main characters are like "my god loves me!!!" right... while the bible is calling homosexual men disgusting over and over and over and over again.
I had to read this crap throughout my entire childhood, and that's why religious guilt exists - because of religion. Queer people need to stop being naive and stop supporting a religion that hates us. It's quite pitiful to watch, and the director is delusional too, i could tell he's a catholic. It's not as pitiful as hearing women saying islam is a feminist religion, but well, it's still the same delusion.

Never said it's not serious or real, the drama is just unserious to me. And i'm not even talking about my own experience anymore, since drama obviously can portray any experience. I'm talking about Thailand in the 90s. It doesn't touch on any of the issues that homosexual men in a closed catholic environment had to face during those years and treats topic very... smooth, too smooth, when in the reality religious people treated homosexuality as the gravest sin back then.
