Because Cdramas are 30-40 episodes, I expect it to take a few episodes, in most cases, to get pulled in. Going into this show, I've seen mixed reviews about the story line and that characters, but I didn't let it deter me. I wanted to watch it for myself and find out if it's worth the squeeze.... and it wasn't. But not because the acting was bad or the story line sucked. I dropped it because there wasn't enough of a feel good aspect in the show to convince me to see it through. After seeing how my boy Zhang Linghe's character was practically getting disrespected by every character in the show from his own mother to the love of his life, I looked into whether this show would produce a happy ending. I didn't want to accidentally watch my way into a C-trauma. When I read about how this show will run its course, I decided it's not for me. As much as I am a fan of Zhang Linghe and Wang Churan, I didn't like how this story would play out.
