When i first got into dramas, i marathoned everything. I guess it was because i started watching older dramas that had finished airing. I don't know if i've just gotten over it, but i can't do that anymore. As soon as the clock hits midnight, i need to put the laptop down. I'm too tired to continue watching, and I have work the next day. But i don't think it means I like these shows any less.
This is so hard! I loved both of them, and to pick one over the other is extremely difficult. I preferred the romance in City Hunter, but i liked the historical basis of Gaksital. Both had excellent action scenes. I can't compare the actors at all, both the mains and the second leads are pretty equal for both good and bad acting/actors, and how those characters were treated in the show. Gaksital was longer, which is usually a negative, but CH, even though it was shorter, still had some bits that felt like filler. So they're both on equal footing for length as well. I liked the relationship between Lee Min Ho and his dad in CH more than Gaksital and his older brother/father-like figures. I also have a slight bias for Lee Min Ho because i think he'd be an awesome kisser (Personal Taste and CH are 2 excellent examples). So in summary... i think I choose City Hunter.
It's rare that I've looked at a cast list and recognised and liked every single member. I am so excited for this drama, I hardly have words to express it.
I love Yoon Eun Hye acting and I love watching Park Yoochun. However, I am skeptical about melodramas. I am worried…
If it turns out like Can You Hear My Heart, I'll be happy. I cried a lot, but it was also really sweet and funny.

Ha ha, i don't think you can be disappointed by someone's drama list :-P. It's crazy the amount of dramas there are. Way too many to watch!

Hey, how's it going? I was checking out your list, and it's so funny how sometimes you'll be in complete agreement with someone about one show (Coffee Prince) and complete disagreement on another (Scent of a Woman), lol.

Hi, it's nice to meet you too :-). Are you still working on your Completed list, or have you just not seen many dramas?

Coffee Prince was your first Korean drama!? That's lucky, it's always good to start with the best. One of my friend's first drama's was Dream High 2. Now really, out of all the drama's in the world, how unlucky could he be to start with that one!?
i loved coffee prince, hana kimi and you're beautiful was pretty nice too... BUT i couldnt get though the first…
I know, i had the same problem finding subs for Sungkyunkwan Scandal. I eventually bought a pirated dvd of it, and even that had utterly horrible subs for the last 2 episodes.
WHAAAA... I totally agree whit this list! although I haven't seen Sungkyunkwan Scandal I plan to watch it for…
I think You're Beautiful is better overall (although i must admit, i may be thinking of the aesthetics over the story), but i did appreciate how short Ikemen Desu Ne was. Korean dramas do tend to go overlong. But I think each series has its good and bad points, so it's hard to pick one over the other.
When i saw that Coffee Prince was 2nd, i thought "but what can beat Coffee Prince?", lol. I will give you Sungkyunkwan Scandal, it did have the serious story underlining the whole show, and real consequences if she was found out.
So excited for this. Especially now that Yoon Eun Hye is going to be the main female lead!

Hi, I just read your review of Reply 1997. I didn't think them sleeping together before marriage was unoriginal. In so many K-dramas, the girls are so pure they hardly even kiss. I liked the fact that this portrayed a realistic relationship. I actually wasn't sure if they'd do that, seeing as Eunji is an idol and they're kind of young. So when they were actually kissing properly, and when the show intimated that they'd slept together, I was like "good on you, writers!", lol
I don't know why it isn't airing in Korea first, that's very strange. But it makes no difference to me cuz either way, i'm watching subtitles, lol

I just read your Dream High 2 review. It made me laugh because it's almost exactly my review, although I did watch the last couple episodes. It's one of those shows that could've been so good if they actually had a story in mind before they started filming. At least, I assume they just started filming the show thinking they'd decide the story as they went along, lol. I don't know who to blame for the utter ridiculousness though. The writers? The director? JYP? All of the above, I suppose.
But I'm going to try to convince my Mum to watch City Hunter. It has enough action to keep her satisfied, seeing as she doesn't like anything too romantic or sad. It's the right mix of everything to keep both of us happy, but the trouble is convincing her of that.
I try to get my friends to watch dramas with me but they flat out refuse, no matter what I say. I show them pictures of Lee Min Ho, or a video of him laughing. How they don't fall in love with him on sight, I have no idea, lol. But they just aren't interested :-(
